The Battle of the Somme symbolised the horrors of warfare in world war one. Follow orders, fight for your country, survive in rain soaked trenches and wait for the call; the call to chargeover no man's land to fight for freedom and liberation. Equipped with your arsenal of weaponry, make haste and overtake your enemies; watch over your brothers and god speed. As a soldier in The Somme you are challenged to overtake your enemy's forces. Team work dependency is key without it you will fall to feet of your foes. Listen out for orders from your commanding officer. Which role are you? You decide! From the Medic class and being able to help wounded allies, to being an Officer, taking command to spot targets and mark them on your map to create devastation to your enemies forces with Artillery barrage.

Can it also be used to 'hurt' things? You know, in WW1, a lot of stuff was used for melee fighting, such as shovels and trench clubs, not only bayonets and rifle stocks.

I'm looking forward to this game very much, and personally I would like it if your character had value. For example over the duration of the war your player's uniform would get dirt, blood, and battle scars. In many FPS games out today you get thrown into a battle with a soilder that has absolutelty no meaning, just cannon fodder to throw at the enemy to see how much kills you can get. Now I understand in The Somme if you get shot in the head you are not coming back from it, but generally I would like it very much if your character had meaning to you and you wouldn't just respawn with a random soilder that is exactly identical with the rest of the soilders. The soilders' you make should be unique to other soilders and have personal value.
If Top Hat games could find a way to make your soilder customizeable to have uniqueness and value, and to have him reoccur in the battles you fight. Another thought is... lets say your soilder gets shot in the shoulder, he might get dragged out of the battle by a medic, then there might be a recovery timer till you can join the fight again. This is just a small idea that my friend and I thought of while we were discussing this game over. I hope you enjoyed my friend and I's views, and sorry for any mispelling or bad grammar:D!!!!!!
