"Stop Talking I have heard TOO mAny of these Damn TALES!"
said LT. Cooler
"If I Hear ONE MORE STORY ABOUT THIS GHOST, I SWEAR! Some one will Meet led."
He paced up and down the line shaking his red face in anger.
His proud officers boots clunking with the rotting wood floor.
He than stopped slapped his hands together turning around,
"dear men, if you don't seem to know we are in a war, and a war means morality and ITS MY JOB in the office to keep it up, If I hear one more thing about this TRENCH MAN SOme one will get my BOOT there There BACKSIDE"
The cross Lt. walked off to the trench exit that's in the back area. fiddling with his fingers. with 4 officers following behind in a hurry to keep up.

But what started this Problem with Dear Lt. Cooler?

well It all started about a month ago when men in the trenches passed around this story:

Nov 21st 1916
Adam was a German trench Security, His job was to be sure that the Ammo stalk piles remained in good form and condition. but late one night Adam, was resting in the ammo stalk pile till a stray shell from the German lines struck the dugout blowing up his fire stove
The rest of the trench heard a loud explosion! Men awoke from there dugouts running to the line with guns. some Germans started to yell in horror of what they saw.
from out of the burning dugout sprawled and tilting and trying to keep balance was Adam he was twisted and destroyed looking. He soon hit his head by falling into a trench beam. in which he fell back dead.

(never happens this tale was ever really confirmed where it came from.)

Soon news started to spread on Adams death and how he lived so long and lost so much of him. It made it to the British side
where a Tommy named Mark (loved ghosts) thought what if we spiced it up!

The next day it was the same story But with an Irish man named Lucky who was blown in half by the dugout going off, his top half crawling out of the trench where he died shortly,
But that was not enough It got back to the Germans!
They added he had no skin left! And he ran away into the woods to like like a monster!
But back to the Brits He was now a 7 foot tall man
who lost skin and a arm! and he died on the trench floor and 2 hours later he got up and trotted away into no mans land where he lived in his own trench where he would drag the dead into them to laugh at!

The story got out of hand when it reached the Lt. Cooler.
he sat up in his bed and thought too much at night about it.
He hated grave yards and dead, and this story was bothering the Pants off of him.
One day hearing the Trench Man (his given name)The Lt. said "OKAY THATS IT WE ARE GOING DOWN THERE AND ENDING THIS NONSENSE!" Him and 4 others piled into a motor car |
drove all the way to the front and yelled at the men to stop. 'Hence the opening'

now what more could the LT. do?
he yelled at the soldiers and went home.
He filed a complaint about soldier discipline.
but did the men stop, No.
they continued there fun with the story same goes to the Germans as well.

but one major new detail to THE TRENCH MAN was now...

he cried out these words each night: "COOOLEER COOOOLLER COOOOOLLER!"
