I have added a command console today, it currently has one cheat: "devnewgame",but soon there will be lots of cheats. The console isn't very advanced, it wont guess the cheats for you or have any fancy text, just space to enter the code. It does the job. The main menu will soon be fixed and sorted in time for beta 2.
I started the development in late december and in a day or two I had put together the foundries of the game. The sprites, 1 level etc. But within a month or so since the last beta before christmas, I have gone far in progress. I have added better textures for all objects, tonnes more entities, 1 new npc, lots of bugfixes, over 5 new levels, cheat console and much more. I am very excited to release the 2nd beta very soon and I hope people interested in the game's progress are too. Althought the game's final price is £2.99, I am releasing betas here and there for free while im developing the game, this lets people test the game and lets them play what they may potentially want to purchase. Once the game is done (currently far from it) I will still release updates but not as frequent. I plan to release a few extra maps and then bugfixes, once everything is done I will probably leave development for this title and go on to another title which I have planned.
I will be using the game engine I have constructed for this game in another. The new game will be a lot shorter and a different style. It will be a more modern style sidescrolling shooter where you take on the role of a special forces operative, you must raid Bandit compounds and eliminate all enemy personnel.
