Hey!

I've got a couple announcements to make.

Firstly, another teaser is in production. Hopefully this one will have some background pictures or animations. The teaser will be added to the modDB downloads & on youtube once finished.

Secondly, I will announce a feature update. The game will be going to include several gametypes. I will list the current ones we have in mind here:
Deathmatch:
A large-scale empire building game, the most expanded gametype of them all. Will be much like other RTS games' deathmatch gametype. Has 3 basic variants: 1. Free for all (no diplomacy), 2. Teams (no diplomacy, but players are assigned to teams at the setup screen) and 3. diplomacy (no fixed teams thus diplomacy allowed).
King of the hill:
Much like deathmatch, but 1 empire has to hold a central region for a certain amount of time in order to win. There is no conquest victory possible and there's no ingame diplomacy. Players can't invade systems within a certain range around the enemy's capital.
Economic War:
Players will get a region assigned to them. Each region will have the same layout and resources. Players can't send ships over the border and diplomacy isn't allowed. Empires also can't expand outside their region. Empires have to accumulate a certain amount of resources in order to win. The only option for disrupting enemies is by funding pirates or creating unrest.
Fleet war:
Players will buy a fleet with a preset amount of credits. Each player controls 1 fleet. Teams can be made at the setup screen, but no diplomacy is allowed. The last standing team wins. Compare this gametype alot with RTW's or MTW's multiplayer gameplay.
Battlefield:
Each team has an own station hull. They can expand and mount all sorts of modules on it. Players will start with a small bunch of ships and have to capture all sorts of objects around the battlefield, like: mining bases & trading stations (extra income), gun platforms (defence), civil docks (extra repair abilities) and civil shipyards (production bonus and cheap, but weak ships are added to the production list). It will be much like SW:EaW's skirmish gameplay. The ultimate goal is destroying all opponent team's spacestations. Also, pirates and bounty-hunters will roam the battlefield, adding an unpredictable component.

We are likely to develop battlefield and fleet war first. After that the other gametypes will follow.

That's it for now!

Cheers,
Roberto 'dirtbag007' Moretti
