Hi everybody, The game is called “Kafka, episode 1: Ravachol” and as the title said, it’s based on Franz Kafka’s life. The very famous European writer, known for his novels like The Trial. In this game, and this first episode, you’ll live the life of Franz Kafka from his birth to the primary school. The major part focuses on a normal day with a lot of struggles. The gameplay is a mix of a point and click (items, inventory) and a visual novel with a lot interactions and multiple choices. The core gameplay is the dialogues. Each dialogue is like a fight. You have to choose between several reactions like “to lie”, “to be honest”, “to be rude”, etc. But, be careful, each choice has consequences. You don’t have a life bar but a “mental health bar” or a “depressed bar”. Each interaction has a consequence on your happiness, or sadness, so think before clicking everywhere.

An article to talk about the cutscenes of the game.

Hello everybody,

It’s very common to create some cutscenes in a video game. To help us to tale you the story of the young Kafka, we decided to create some cutscenes. But, as you know, it could be very expensive to create some movie clips for a game. That’s why we chose to only use some full screen images without animation. All the images will be in black and white to contrast with the in-game scenes which have colors. It’s an option for us to distinguish the moments when Kafka talk to himself and the real when he has to interact with the others.

Here some picture at the beginning of the game.
