Experience this classic game with better graphics on its 20th anniversary!
This is a hi-res texture pack for LOKD that uses Texmod. It has reworked textures for the main characters and a bunch of upscaled environmental textures.
The pack contains two files you can use with Texmod.
- Vol.1. contains new, detailed textures for Raziel & Kain plus a bunch of high(er) resolution textures for the environment that I created using the original textures from the game. These are far from comprehensive, I didn't have time to repaint every texture by hand, but it's still nice to see a bunch of sharper textures in the game 20 years later. There is also a new loading screen and a sharper menu font.
- Vol.2. contains additional upscaled textures for the environment, feel free to decide whether you want to use these with or without the first file.
(Originally I wanted to make a separate file for just the character textures, but I accidentally deleted my logging file, locking myself out of the first file, which is why I uploaded it as is. Vol.2. contains only the textures I exported and reworked after that.)

How to use:
1. Download my mod and unzip it to a folder of your choosing.
2. Download Texmod: Moddb.com
3. Unzip it and open Texmod.exe
4. Click the big Folder button under Target Application and select defiance.exe in your LOKD installation folder.
(e.g. if you have a Steam copy: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\legacy_kain_defiance)
5. On The Package Mode tab click the little folder button and add one or both of my .tpf files.
6. Click Run.
That's it! You're good to go.
(It might take a few seconds longer for the game to launch while it loads the new textures.)
You'll have to repeat steps 3-6 every time you start the game, but it will go much faster the second time.
If you have a Steam copy of the game and it fails to launch, try copying Steam.dll into the game's installation folder.
