Krater is a real-time squad based dungeon crawling game. The game combines fast paced combat, tactical squad management, crafting, and questing all seen from a classic RTS perspective. While the game’s campaign can be played offline, the Co-Op expansion adds the opportunity to tackle hours of specially designed online Co-Op dungeons and bosses. The game brings you far into the future of a post-apocalyptic Sweden. Once home to IKEA, Vikings, and Minecraft, today its primitive inhabitants scavenge the broken overgrown world for technological artifacts.

At first it was great but after a while you get to know that there isn't a difference between the first 30min and after 5 hours. Enemies are pretty much the same (mostly bears and dogs), weapons and skills don't differ at all. To look at the variable things like increasing damage, strength etc; it is there but you won't notice much it.
The camera is also a little subotimal, but ok.

The repetition in this game is so extreme. The gameplay could be fine if it weren't for the fact that there is no substance to any of it.
The locations on the world map: they are all so empty...

You allways have to hire recruits, but thats kind of annoying, because you have to start each new recruit from lvl 0 and the first few can only get to max level 5, than you switch and you can get to level 10 and so on.

Graphic: 7,5 (original, fresh, colours)
Sound: 6,5 (music is quite good, just ~10% of the text is "voiceacted")
Balance: 5 (there is a short tutorial, the fights are heavy or easy, but mostly without a storywise reason)
Atmosphere: 7 (see graphic, but its a bummer there is such a little voiceacting, emptyness)
Controls: 7 (it works, but nothing special)
Content: 4,5 (week story, repetitiv, emptyness)

Overall: 6

Its sad, I could have been much better with more voiceacting, story and more varation.
The designe is great, but there isnt anything special and its to repetive in general.
I hope the next game of these Devs will be better in each way, I´m sure the wanted to creat a good game and they are creative.

BTW: The co-op is seperate and works just in 3 levels, so dont expect to play the hole game in co-op!
