Post news Report RSS Report: PlayStation VR Exclusive Farpoint Price And Release Date Leaked

The US GameStop website may have just outed the VR first-person shooter’s launch date.

VRFocus
reports that the price and release date for the PlayStation VR-exclusive first-person shooter Farpoint has been leaked. US online retailer GameStop has two listings related to Farpoint, with each revealing the release date to be June 30, 2017.

Not only is there a listing for the standalone game, which has its price set at US$49.99, but there’s also a listing for a Farpoint bundle that includes a PlayStation VR Aim Controller. This bundle is going for US$79.99. Though the difference in price between the standalone game and controller bundle doesn’t necessarily give us the price of the Aim Controller itself, this does mean we can ballpark the Aim Controller at going for at least US$30 by itself.

GameStop’s UK storefront
does not list a release date for Farpoint, but it does include a price of £54.97 – roughly equivalent to the US store price. The official PlayStation game page for Farpoint has not yet been updated with a release date or price.

Farpoint was originally revealed at E3 in June of this year. It’s a PlayStation VR-exclusive first-person shooter that sees the player exploring a hostile alien world, wielding a gun that can be controlled with the also newly-revealed PlayStation VR Aim Controller.

Few other details about the game are known, other than Sony’s official story description:

“Having found yourself stranded on an uncharted extra-terrestrial world with only standard issue equipment to keep you alive, you’ll need to set off in search of a crashed space station – The Pilgrim – and its survivors to find a way back home.”
