Axis vs Allied Currently there are 7 different teams you can play as, each with different weapons, skins and maps: USA, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Poland, Japan, and Italy, and there are lots of maps for each team.

First of all I'd like to say that a good game doesn't need next gen graphics, or even great textures, but a consistent gameplay and sounds, that's what D-Day Normandy is.

As one of the many Quake 2 mods, it reveals itself as a war genre game where you can fight alone with bots, or even experience the battle online with your friends. The online mode is the same as many other 1st persons shooters , and the way it expresses puts it on the side of the biggest war games of the market.

You can choose between two different sides, Axis if you want to stop the Allies from preventing you, or Allies if you want to stop the German war machine. You can also choose between 9 different classes, ranging from infantry to flamethrower.

The game has average mechanics in graphics, but some other not-so-minor details had to be at least convincent, like the shadows that are very buggy and don't act correctly as one, even the Original Quake 1 and 2, had better shadow effects, and remember it IS a mod using the same engine.

Though it's not a game focused in single-player mode, IT MAKES PART of the game, so the AI had to act like one. They can't do simple actions such as like climbing stairs, jump small crates and many other simple stuff that any other AI would do. Some things can be such a goddamn annoying, like your spawn point doesn't behave the right way, in some maps , you respawn in front of the wall, imagine yourself always when you die having to turn the character the right way, that's frustating.

D-Day Normandy prove to be a good mod and game, has a good multiplayer and a solid gameplay easy to understand, if not for some bugs and details, is open source so anyone can make mods for it, in other words, simply fantastic. And the best part is that it is free.
