Codename: Panzers is a World War II video game created by Hungarian game developer StormRegion. It launched in 2004 to generally favorable reviews. The series entered its second iteration in July 2005 with Codename: Panzers Phase II. A Codename: Panzers Phase III was originally planned, but no longer appears on the official website. It was followed by Codename: Panzers – Cold War. The first two games of the series don't work on 64-bit operating systems due to driver incompatibility of StarForce Protection. Codename: Panzers was intended to be a three-part series portrayal of various conflicts of the Second World War.
This SP demo features one North African mission.

1. INTRODUCTION
North Africa, 1943 - Welcome to the desert!
The mission, storyline and all included units in this demo are
fictional and not connected to the historically accurate campaigns
of the final game.
This demo has been created using only the editors that will be released
with the game. In a few weeks from now everyone will be able to create
his own scenarios.
At the beginning of the mission, Corporal James Barnes leads his men
to capture an African village which is occupied by German and Italian
troops...
But that's just the beginning... The demo contains various main goals
and optional objectives that you may or may not complete. And there
are three secret objectives and even more hidden things to discover!
The entire scenario has been created exclusively for this demo release
and it will not be included in the full game.
We hope you'll have hours of fun! Feedback is very welcome.
Enjoy the demo!

4. GENERAL HINTS
- Press 'Space' to pause the game. During pause you may give commands
to your units.
- Use your heroes (Wilson will arrive later in the demo). They are very
powerful and also affect the vehicle they are controlling. Be careful,
if a hero dies the mission is over.
- During battles you should often use the 'Move Backward' command.
Tanks then immediately retreat without turning first. This lets you
make smart use of your vehicles' armor. Also, tanks continue shooting
during a backward movement.
- If you are an advanced player, press 'F8' to switch the interface on
and off. This provides a better overview.

5. WALKTHROUGH
MAIN OBJECTIVE 1
"Capture the village"
- First you should concentrate on capturing the village. Advance very
slowly and use Rifle Squads to recon the area.
- Always keep Tanks and Soldiers in front, the M17 Priest units in the
back to make sure they don't get destroyed.
- Use the 'Move Backward' command ('s' shortcut if you use the CDV
keyboard configuration) during battle.
- There is one crew squad located in your base. Use it to enter the
damaged Sherman tank that you can find between the base and the
crashed plane. Immediately repair it after the crew has entered it...
only one enemy hit could destroy it.
- Heal your soldiers using the two available medic squads.
OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE 1
"Destroy the 88mm cannons on the mountain"
- Take your time and explore the mission area after capturing the
village.
SPOILER WARNING!
Send 3 or 4 soldier squads to the cave entrance on
the mountain that can be accessed through your base.
You get to see a short cutscene and then your troops
arrive at the other end of the map. Capture the
Artillery nearby and then free the British prisoners.
MAIN OBJECTIVE 2
"Occupy the train station and destroy the roadblock!"
- Your next target is the train station. Follow the tracks and keep
your units moving. In this area you will be attacked by tactical
and heavy bombers.
- If you find this mission objective very difficult, concentrate on
the first optional objective first. Read the spoiler above.
- Use external artillery to damage the enemies located at the train
station. Use your soldiers to move forward, tanks behind them,
artillery and repairers in the back. Concentrate on the Elephant
after destroying the first attack line including the 88mm cannon.
SPOILER WARNING!
If you captured the artillery on the cliff next to
the train station as described above, this will help
a lot during the train station capture.
OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE 2
"Capture the second support camp in this area!"
- After the successful occupation of the train station you can
either move your troops back to the village center and set up your
defenses. If you feel you haven't lost too many troops, concentrate
on the second optional objective. This will give you access to a
second support camp. But be fast. Most of your squads should be in
the village before the counter reaches 0.
MAIN OBJECTIVE 3
"Defend the village"
- Set up the village defenses right after the cutscene. Enter
buildings with soldier squads and move support trucks and artillery
to the village center. Position your tanks in circle around the
village.
- Use tactical bomber attacks on later attack waves when stronger
enemies appear.
MAIN OBJECTIVE 4
"Retreat to the base and defend it!"
- Immediately retreat with ALL your units after the cutscene. Use the
time before the final attack waves appear to repair and heal your
troops at the support camp at the end of your base.
- Use the artillery located on the mountain at your base (where the
tunnel entrance is located).
SECRETS
- explore the landscape and look for hidden objects/areas...
- try capturing enemy units... use your flamethrower squads...
- someone could need help...
