Barricade is an 2D arcade puzzler which has the player select 1 out of 8 robots to control and use to clear out the multi-colored blocks in each level before their energy runs out. Blocks are destroyed by using bullets of the same color. Or by utilizing certain objects in the playfield itself.
As gameplay persist. The player may start to realise that regaining enough energy to keep their charge meter filled and continue playing. Becomes harder and harder. This urges the player to start thinking and plotting out ways to setup "chains" or "combos". In order to regain the most energy back. To complete the level. And rack up higher scores. Which can result in better rankings!
