Assault! is a Multiplayer 4VS4 Third Person Shooter. You will take place on the battlefield as a Marine Soldier or Resistance Soldier, your goal is to eliminate the other team. The game is round-based and you are able to buy many different weapons. There is also a single player mode with up to four bots in which you have to survive and kill the Resistance soldiers.

Assault! becomes FPS
As some players told me, and I think they are right, a third person view doesn't fit very well with the game style, so Assault! will change to a first person perspective which I think it will give a more immersive gameplay.

As nearly all FPS nowadays, you will have a crosshair in the center of the screen, but you will also be able to aim using mouse right button and get also more precision.

In order to adapt to first person, I'm working on new, more detailed weapons and animations. Here's an advance of handgun and W47 in first person view:

New First Person Weapons

New First Person Weapons

New First Person Weapons

New First Person Weapons

Handgun and Hands have been created by Jon Fletcher, and AK47 is modeled by Alexander Kolesov, from Acknex Unlimited. I animated both of them and I also modified a bit AK's mapping and geometry to make it look better.

One of the lacks of Assault! is not having a Server-list system, people isn't able to join other games unless the contact with server creator and give him the IP.

In order to solve this I'm working on a Server List system which will show all currently active servers, and also you will know how much people is playing on that server or in which map they are playing. This way you will be able to join a game by doing a simple click over the server name. I hope this will rise Assault! number of players.

I don't want to offend you but it was third person that made this game unique. if you accomplish making a fps out of it, it will be hard to see a difference to close quarter combat or true combat elite. i really like the idea of a third person shooter which is like true combat elite. maybe somebody who reads this can prof me wrong but i don't know any other indieproject like yours. so keep up the good work either it is fps or tps.

Isnt there a way to have both versions? Like having servers FPS only and others TPS only? Dont mix them because TPS gives advantage around the corners.

now don't get me wrong. i love fps games. but the perspective I'm most in love with is third person since there aren't many tps on pc. one of my top three games of all time is the first max payne game and i have always wanted a mutiplayer max payne/counter strike hybrid with some of the wallcover elements of operation winback. that is why i'm a bit sad.

i like the idea of having the option to choose between playing third or first person, but as you said , you should have seperate servers for each option.
but why cutting out an working third person and replace it with first person ,if you can add first person and keep both?

Finally I'm going to leave it third person, as I have received some critics here and Gamestudio forum.

either a client side or server side option should exist that allows switching between third and first person. That way everyone would be satisfied. :D
Personally, I dont mind either one, both are fun to play with.

I think you should keep both fps and tps cuz in first person view its better aim and sprinting and in third person view it good for jumping and um I dont know!MORE JUMPING
