782 AD The Saxon Revolt addon - Age of Empires II: The Conquerors

This is the original 782 AD The Saxon Revolt scenario made by Andreas Marscheider (aMa). I found this custom scenario in my copy of Age of Empires II: The Conquerors in the collector's edition. I noticed this map is only mentioned on the Age of Empires Wiki. I noticed the links on the wiki no longer exists and I have something rare to preserve.

This game has been tested with the following settings:

Contents of the game: The scenario takes us back to the year 782 AD. The Saxons are revolting once again under their Duke Widukind. Frisian troops are on their side and support them with weapons to hold out against Charlemagne's army.
Experience the heaviest Frankish defeat in the battle at the Suentel mountain and then march through the Saxon marshland along with the core troops under the command of Charlemagne to knock down the Saxon revolt. Witness the bloodbath in Verden, when Charles passes judgement on the Saxon nobility and has 4,500 noblemen executed. This is one of the sadest chapters in German history. Accompany Charlemagne then further with his punitive expedition and find the 3 missing relics that were taken by the Saxons when they looted monasteries...

I hope you enjoy this rather extensive scenario. Saving the game several times is not a bad idea! Using cheats naturally restricts the appeal of the game.
