This is a pack of two additional shaders for the emulator PPSSPP: ACES Vision and NTSC Chromatic Aberration. These shaders were developed with Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception in mind, but they may be used for any PSP game supported by PPSSPP.
ACES Vision is an comprehensive shader that tweaks multiple aspects of rendering. It slightly boosts blue and green tones, and reduces reds. Additionally, it adjusts contrast non-lineraly to preserve details and minimizing color distortion using a vignette-like pattern that brightens the center but does not darken the screen corners.
NTSC Chromatic Aberration applies chromatic aberration and dynamically brightens and darkens elements on screen, similar to old CRT screens but without distorting shapes. This results in a 90s video-like effect that makes the whole rendering more convincing and photorealistc despite being, techincally, a distortion.
It is very strongly recommended to use these shaders in combination with the following (default) shaders in order, and using these settings:
1. FXAA Antialiasing
2. NTSC Chromatic Aberration
Animation speed (0 -> disable): 1.00
3. ACES Vision
Amount: 1.00
Intensity: 0.00
4. PSP color
5. LCD Persistence
Strength: 0.30
- Installation -
Simply unpack to your "..ppsspp\assets\shaders\" folder. On Android and Linux Flatpak package, it should be "...PSP\shaders".
Create the folder if it doesn't exist yet.
