All core functionality has been re-written in JASS and stored directly in the mod. This allows for more optimized code, as well as making future updates easier, since updated code will no longer have to be copied and pasted for every map. Additionally, a huge amount of bugs were fixed.
General Changes
- Music track order is now random.
- Creeps will now have reduced health on Easy difficulty.
- Kerrigan, Hydralisks, and Lurkers will now randomly change their facing direction while they are idle, as they did in StarCraft.
- Re-colored the Mutalisk Cocoon to more resemble its StarCraft counterpart.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed missions objectives not being completable if the final enemy building was removed via infestation.
- Fixed some parts of creep being incorrectly unbuildable.
- Fixed a crash when loading a saved game.
- Fixed creep being removed upon loading a saved game.
- Fixed Zerglings emitting a blood splatter effect when they burrow/unburrow.
- Fixed an exploit allowing Lurkers to bypass their cooldown.
- Fixed an exploit allowing Devourers to rapidly apply the maximum amount of spores to their target.
- Fixed Devouring One and Hunter Killer auto-acquiring enemies while burrowed.
- Fixed Infested Mortar Teams and Frost Wyrms dealing more damage than intended to units under Dark Swarm.
- Fixed Infested Mortar Teams dealing no damage to units under Dark Swarm when using the Attack Ground command.
- Fixed space-bar point not being set to newly-hatched units.
- Fixed non-worker Hatchery rally-line not updating if changed to a unit or destructible via the Set Rally Point command as opposed to right-clicking on it.
- Fixed Nydus Canals being removed from selection and sometimes shifting their position when placing their exit.
Memory Leak Fixes
With these, the last of the memory leaks I was aware of have been fixed,
further eliminating random crashes and unnecessarily high memory usage.
- Queen's Snare, Dark Swarm, and Plague.
- When new larvae spawn.
- When new creep is created.
- When Hatcheries finish upgrading to a Lair or Hive.
Chapter 3
- Fixed the cinematic being skippable too early, which caused various issues.
- Music now plays in the cinematic.
- Restored missing cinematic dialogue.
Chapter 5
- Tyrande will now only use Starfall in the Human base on Hard difficulty.
Chapter 6
- Kerrigan no longer starts with an extra Potion of Greater Healing.
- Fixed creeps with a splash attack incorrectly dealing no damage to units under Dark Swarm.
- Fixed events from completing the first quest being repeated later in the level.
- Fixed Grom picking up items he's not supposed to on difficulties below Hard.
- Fixed Spawning Pool missing death animation.
- Fixed units in an Overlord sometimes becoming unable to move after being unloaded.
- Fixed a lighting bug during the last quest.
Balance Changes
- Kerrigan and the Queen's cast backswing points slightly increased.
- Reduced the delay before Psi Storm starts dealing damage.
- Larva will now die if the creep under them is removed.
- Overlord / Yggdrasil turn rate slightly reduced.
- Hydralisk / Hunter Killer acquisition range decreased to 600 from 900.
Yggdrasil
- Summon cooldown increased to 90s from 20s.
- Duration increased to 90s from 60s.
Previously, you could have multiple Yggdrasils out, providing 30 food each. This was a little too exploitable. With the duration increase, it should be easier to use as intended.
- Sight range increased to 1900/1400 (the same as an upgraded Overlord).
Zerg Structures
- Standardized repair times and costs to match their build times/costs.
- Fixed missing death animation when killed while under construction.
- All pre-placed structures that generate creep will now have their creep fully spread on game start.
- Slightly increased the rate at which creep is removed when a building providing it dies.
- Evolution Chamber and Hydralisk Den now use models from night_wolveX's Neo Lost Temple map. They are the same as the ones from Project Revolution, except they've been updated to have team color.
how would one go about playing this once you have reforged?
You'll have to have a separate installation of wc3 that's at version 1.28. Thankfully, it's easy enough to get.
There's a link in this donwload's readme that will point you to the right version. You cannot play on battle.net with it though, of course.
yeah i figured it out after i asked
quick question, I have some significant bug reports to drop, where would be the best place for that?
the mod forum or elsewhere?
The forum would probably be best. I have just added a new 'Bug Reports' section.
