Since Valorant does not have controller support, reWASD can help you out to play with your favorite gamepad.
First of all, there are a few things you'd better find out before you try reWASD. That's how it works: the software uses emulated keyboard and mouse, and the first thing you need to do is to add keyboard mappings to controller buttons. Once the configuration is applied, all the assigned keyboard bindings will reproduce after the controller buttons are pressed.
Specifically for this config: since Valorant doesn't have controller support at all, all you need to do is to add keyboard mappings, and the config is ready. We used the default in-game controls scheme for making this config, so if you have modified the layout you need to whether reset to default or change the bindings inside the config according to your in-game settings. You can modify the config if you need to :)
Seems like you're ready to try out how this controller support profile works! There are a few steps you need to complete to enable this config:
- Download and install reWASD (you can use a 14-day trial for basic functionality, and a 3-day trial for each advanced feature)
- Download the Valorant controller support file from moddb.com and import it to reWASD
- Connect your gamepad, choose the config, and press Apply
Done! Now you can launch the game and play with the controller :)
Here's the link to the other Valorant configs in our community. Made for Default in-game settings, all the mappings have descriptions. Tune the mouse sensitivity up to your preference, and enjoy! If the mouse feels unresponsive on diagonals, feel free to mess with Vertical and Horizontal axis range settings.
Valorant works with only one keyboard and mouse input. In order for the game to see the input from the remapped stick, the mappings should be emulated on behalf of your physical devices. Right now, this behavior only affects the mouse, but you can choose both to be sure that everything works perfectly with this or upcoming game’s versions.
So, to resolve the issue you need the following steps:
- Go to Preferences — Input Devices tab
- Choose the physical devices you are currently playing with in the drop-down lists and click Apply
- Now, Apply your Valorant config (or choose one of those we have in our Community)
- You can also check Do not create Virtual Input Device for reWASD after you have chosen the physical devices. This will help avoid the issues with Valorant that may use the mouse exclusively and doesn't let it work in Windows.
