I am unable to get the Black Hole map to open in Deathmatch, but it opens fine in Deathmatch Safe. What is the difference between the two?

There is no difference in the maps between 'Deathmatch' and 'SAFE Deathmatch'. I just tested it and don't have problems here on my PC. Does the log say anything specific?

Sorry man, installer can't find your MOD location, even i can't find it. I use desura to launch MOD, can you allow desura to update the files instead. I tried but it wont update to your latest version
This patch only works for the ModDB version, not for Desura. As far as I know, Desura doesn't allow patches.

The installer does not see the installation directory. Choose any folder - tells me that the folder is not visible, and that mod is not installed. How to solve the problem?? Why do not you give modes in arihive rar or zip?
If we give them zip or rar files they start to complain why we cannot make an installer.

Actually he can do with just the Release Beta installer, no need for the Hotfix before installing this patch!

I like the content upgrade and the improvements to the framerate and issues with ships turning black on my system with shader 2.0.
however, the balancing is not quite as good. I have tried a couple of battles against the hardest ai and i usually win them within 30 minutes, although i could even try to win them faster.
All you need is 20 Peregrine torbedo bombers and 2 Verture scouts. Send them to the enemy base and research additional damage. Once you find the base just attack it, no matter how many fighters, turrets or other ships there are. Just attack the main base and the bombers will eventually destroy it, though you loose a couple of them.
I also expected alot more attacks on my dilithium miners but a couple of sabers deal with everything the enemy might through at you for the first 20 minutes. Until then you should have Sovereign class warships and Nebulas with Sensor dish. Or you allready destroyed his main base.
Other than thats its fun to play.
The AI is something that we are going to be working to improve on before release Gamma comes out, you should find it more challenging then!

If there are still problems, try to use the 'Safe Deathmatch' game mode. There are problems with the other gamemodes in the most recent release... but this will be fixed soon.
I'm a having a bit of the problem. I've installed the Mod, and am in the process of installing the "content update" patch. However when I press the "Launch STC" button, it goes to the loading page for awhile, but then goes back to launcher.
Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo on Windows mode. (Windows XP)
Currently using the Beta version, with the hotfix patch. The file location should be about right, however I'm using a cracked version of Homeworld 2 which involved replacing the exe. file with another in the Sierra folder that came with the crack. the mod is currently saved in a separate folder where another Homeworld.exe file from the crack is located. Any suggestions?

Ah. The stc_main.big, stc_fonts.big, and stc_shader1.big/stc_shader2.big themselves need to be in the Data region of the game directory. Otherwise, the method that HW2 (and in effect the STC team's launcher) uses to load any kind of mod becomes a moot point; it won't be able to find the mod if it's anywhere other than where it needs to be.
It doesn't matter if the game itself has been 'modified,' per se, since the run parameters remain the same unless some kind of demon whale that beached itself in Alaska was responsible for the creation of your .exe file.
In which case, you're going to be very unhappy. This will please said whale.
Otherwise, be sure you've got v1.1 of HW2. That *should* fix the problem.
If performance is bad try enabling/disabling vsync in the options. If this doesn't work, come back here...
Which animations are buggy?
Ships can separate, go to the launch menu and launch the sections.
You guys are aware that the Galaxy and Prometheus class ships instantaneously cease to have a 'physical' existence once their parts are recombined, right? When this happens, the ship DOES still appear on the launch manager, but its position is the same as that of the hyperspace intermediary position – that of a defined 'center' for a map. It permanently remains this way and cannot in any way be selected.
Would the fact that I was playing on the 'Black Hole' map whilst this error consistently occurred? I will also note that the only way to trigger the availability of the 'Safe Deathmatch' gameplay mode (after installing the MOST recent hotfix, which is Hotfix II if I am not mistaken) is to add the -overridebigfile parameter.
