I see there's still a community kicking about, and I decided to release my source code here for Alliance.
I admit I can't remember the exact way to open a map using the Tilde (~), but the way to do it is like:
Download and add packages to where they should go.
Note: If you are using a GFWL build of Gears of War PC then DO NOT edit the WarGame\Config\WarEngine.ini file.
Only for compiling uscript would you need to edit the WarEngine.ini under [Editor.EditorEngine] section at the end add the line: EditPackages=WarfareGameAlliance
Host a multiplayer game and then use the servertravel command.
This is where you can specify both map and gamemode, although I can't remember the exact wording, sorry, it's been too long but here's the guess..
ServerTravel ALL_Mansion?game=WarfareGameAlliance.WarGameAlliance
Someone could figure it out if they used the Gears Editor and took a look at actor class
The least buggy version of the Gears Editor was simply making a shortcut of the Startup.exe and adding a space and the word editor to the end.
Ex.
"C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\startup.exe" editor
