Updated version of the regular Romae ad Bellum UI and Datamod. This is now compatible with the Return of Rome expansion for AoEII DE.
Download and unzip this file, then place the two sub folders into C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\[A Large Number]\mods\local. Open AoEII DE, go to the mod manager, enable the UI mod, and restart the game. The UI should then take effect. Make sure to select the Datamod before starting a game. If you use Enhanced Graphics, you need to install the Rome at War Enhanced Graphics pack in addition to this main download.

Holy crap, how did I not hear about this mod sooner? Excited as hell to try it out.
A nice mod !
Cheers.
I tried it. But it crashes as soon as I start the game. Is there a list of things not to do that might cause crashes?
Is this meant to be played via Return of Rome now, or still through the main AoE2 game?
No, you can play Rome at War without any of the DLCs for AoE2 DE.
So I've tried it and I can make it run it, it plays good, I can read the civs and see the icons, but some units are completely invisible to me, can't select them even. This is both for the editor and single player, and I believe they are the ones you specifically created (for example, short swordsman). I also think that the architecture you made is broken or I can't see it. I definitely read all your instructions and follow them, dont know what I might be doing wrong.
It sounds like you might not have the Enhanced Graphics pack for Rome at War installed, but you use UHD to play the game. Would that be correct?
You were absolutely right!! I can see everything now and its beautiful. Thank you for the amazing work

some units disapear like the spartans or the sword men, i love this mod
You probably don't have the Enhanced Graphics pack installed from Rome at War.
Thank you for your good mod!
But, I want to know how do i fix a problem where the civ names are not shown in single play setting and editor.
same problem here
Same here, it also says no translation found even when I set the language to English
Palintonon not visible once created, there's must be a bug despite I got the Enhanced Graphics pack.
same thing with catapult
Everything seems to run ok, but the UI buttons are all scrambled. House shows up as a regular AoE2 windmill granary, barracks is a temple, etc. Descriptions are still fine, and like I said everything still seems to work ok, it's specifically UI buttons that are messed up, it's weird. Was there a recent update to the game that messed stuff up, or am I missing something? I downloaded both the base enhanced graphics and the enhanced graphics patch for the mod, no change.
Edit: also, I'm not seeing the unique units, at all. Are they not in yet?
EDIT 2: yeah, ok, I didn't read all the install instructions so I missed the bit about changing the dataset. I've never actually played AoE2 DE, or the AoE 1 expansion for it, so I had no idea I was just playing a scrambled version of the default expansion. Seems to be working now.
I also have the Palintonon issue. But its random.
One game, my friends recruited Palinton and i couldnt see them.
Another game, i could finally see the Palinton, but my friends couldnt. Its odd.
Hey how do I fix a problem where all the icons for buildings and commands are just these images with white glow on them? It makes the game hard to play.

Very fun mod, however I am experiencing a bug where several of the modded civs become unplayable after progressing to the second age because all the graphics for their buildings vanish and they become un-selectable.
It is different from the invisible units bug, I experienced that and was able to fix by installing the correct graphics patch, but I am unsure what I might need to install.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
I'm also having this issue.
