Replaces all combat music with tracks from Redemption and Recurring Evil.
Painkiller Overdose's vanilla soundtrack is a regular snoozefest, so I decided to do something about it.
Overdose, as far as Painkiller sequels, is the best of the bunch in terms of actual production quality and effort that went into it. But what the later games did right that Overdose didn't is music that doesn't bore me to tears.
I've replaced all "Fight" music in the game with those from Painkiller: Redemption and Painkiller: Recurring Evil. I tried to find the most suitable level for each of these tracks and in some cases, they feel right at home as if they belonged there to begin with ("Small Church Fight" on the level Asteroids is an excellent example of this!)
The list of tracks used as well as their sources and the levels they're placed in is as follows:
- Cataclysm - High Seas Remake (Redemption)
- Japanese Massacre - Entrance Fight (Redemption)
- Desert - Angkor Fight (Recurring Evil)
- Asteroids - Small Church Fight (Redemption)
- Dead Marsh - Highway To Hell Fight (Recurring Evil)
- Black Tower - Graveyard Boss (Recurring Evil)
- Riot - Refinery Fight (Redemption)
- Nuclear Plant - Magazines Fight (Redemption)
- Animal Farm - Unfortunate Abbey Fight (Recurring Evil)
- Field Ambulance - Old Underground Complex (Redemption)
- Ragnarok - Haunted City Remake (Redemption)
- Haunted Valley - Complex of Towers Fight (Redemption)
- Village of the Damned - Spikes Fight (Redemption)
- Studios - Unholy Stronghold Fight (Redemption)
- Loony Park - Graveyard Fight (Recurring Evil)
- Air Combat - Warehouse Fight (Recurring Evil)
- Samael's Lair - Boss & Credits Theme (Recurring Evil)
To install, simply drop the mp3 files into the Music folder of your Painkiller Overdose game directory (Painkiller Overdose/Data/Music) and overwrite as necessary. Enjoy!
If you disagree with my choices or want to add your own music, it's incredibly simple to do. Just change a song's file name to that of another level's and that's it, you're done! I've left all the file details (title, composer, etc) intact so that they're easily identifiable at a glance.
Check out my other mod! Armed to the Teeth
All credit for music used goes to their respective composers. I created none of this, only renamed files.
Already dood something same long time ago. Thank you for great job, vanilla music real sucks.
Yeah I saw yours! Great minds think alike, huh? c:
Though, for mine I wanted to keep it strictly to the other Painkiller sequels' music, cause I think those tracks are phenomenal and it's a shame that they're stuck in those ****** games. They need to be heard!!
