INFANTRY 1.1

DESIGNED TO RUN ON OFFICIAL INVASION SERVERS

Patched to RWR v1.46

Tested and working on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS)
Not tested on Mac OSX, it should work as it is a Unix based operating system like Linux

INSTALLATION (WINDOWS 10):

1. Watch the installation video > WebLink > Installation of INFANTRY 1.1 on YouTube

2. Backup your original game !

3. Uninstall & Re-install Running With Rifles - (Watch the Installation Video on why this is important)

4. Download

5. Navigate to - infantry1.1.7z (7zip archive)

6. Extract the media folder contained within the archive to your running with rifles root directory & overwrite all files

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RunningWithRifles\

INSTALLATION (LINUX):

2. Backup your original game !

3. Uninstall & Re-install Running With Rifles - (Watch the Installation Video on why this is important)

4. Download

5. Navigate to - infantry1.1.7z (7zip archive)

6. Extract the media folder contained within the archive to your running with rifles root directory & overwrite all files

.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/RunningWithRifles

SUMMARY OF CHANGES:

-Realistic explosions with realistic behaviour based on terrain or object

-All weapon & explosive sounds have been recreated from scratch using real world physics & real world decibel scaling, barrel length, muzzle energy, muzzle velocity, round calibre, round type, super sonic & sub sonic rounds

-The speed of sound is modelled, ground reflection and altitude is modelled

-New high resolution photo textures for terrain & objects

-New vehicle textures for woodland, desert and winter maps

-New soldier models for woodland, desert and winter maps (heavily modified Man vs World Faction Models)

-New aiming cursor system

-New weapon, AK-74 replaces AK-47 (Original Ak-47 Stats)

-New weapon, MG5 replaces Imi Negev (Original Imi Negev Stats)

-New weapon, FN Minimi replaces Stoner LMG (Original Stoner LMG Stats)

-Enhanced and remastered ui graphics

-Captain to Colonel now have a unique soldier model with a 'Red Beret' you are now part of the Airborne Infantry 'The Red Devils'

-Brigadier General to General now have a unique soldier model with a 'Green Beret' and face paint, you are now part of the Commandos 'The Men With Green Faces'

-General of the Army now have a unique soldier model with a 'Tan Beret' and face paint, you are now part of the 1st Special Forces Group 'The Tip of the Spear', you are also not tied to any faction and now considered in support of either faction in time of war, you belong to your unit and have your own unique special forces group utility uniform. You will still wear the faction utility uniform when using their protective vests or heavy body armour.

-New campaign called 'Commando' simmilar to Man vs World but far more challenging, completion of the Commando campaign is not a requirement for success and is not expected of you, it is a very tough environment that demands extreme concentration and focus, it is a place to develop your individual fighting skills, and to get you ready for special operations deep behind enemy lines and very often alone and vastly outnumbered, continued practice in this environment will turn you into a hardened commando, just like me, without the tobacco chewing !

-Commando tips, on every map there is a short section with helpful advice from the Commandos, tips on how to fight, survive and increase your combat power, listen to and practice the advice of the Commandos and you will too become a superiour fighting force.

Who am i ?

My name is Josef Mueller a.k.a Anzac_Joe you would have seen me on the official invasion servers, i play this game a lot specially during my development of this mod, i am a RWR fan and tactical shooter fan of the 90's and early 2000's, i have been a personal modder for over 20 years, my first mod was for Command & Conquer Red Alert back in 1996 and ever since then i have been modding games for my own personal enjoyment and as a hobby, this is my first online release, the largest mod i have ever created for a game and the hardest i have ever worked on a project even for a professional company.

After the release of this mod i will be entering a programming course to become my own game developer and the tactical shooter is the genre i most love, i have so many great ideas that i just dont see implemented in the AAA tactical shooters of today that i HAVE seen in tactical shooters of the 90's, rather than continue to wait in frustration until somebody creates a new tactical shooter in the same spirit of the legends of old that have been forgotten by today’s youth through time, i have decided to learn programming and take my modding skills with me to venture into the gaming industry as an indie developer, i want to create great games in the spirit of the golden age of gaming, with gameplay first and realism takes the centre stage. Games that grab you and shake you to the core, great games that come to mind that i will never forget in my time are Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six PC 1998 and Sierra's Swat 4 2005 just two of many greats in gaming history that were a part of my own gaming history.

My family tree has always been a part of the military, i was the only one to have never joined the military, i grew up listening to war stories, reading military books, studying military tactics and playing hard core strategy games and tactical shooters as a kid. Now that i am well into my 30's and realising that life is too short, i want to create those great games for other people to enjoy and have great memories too.

How did i get the name Anzac_Joe ?
The name Anzac_Joe is over 20 years old, i played 'Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far' back in 1997 and borrowed a friends 56kbps modem to play online, i joined a clan called the ANZAC CLAN, it was there that i was given the name Anzac_Joe, the name was lost for near 20 years till i resurrected it when i first signed in to Running With Rifles in April 2015, RWR brought back good memories of my online gaming back in 1997 with Close Combat 2.

It was one hell of a project and a great learning experience with modding newer games today !
