Description
Essential Stronghold is a modpack put together to be the ultimate and pinnacle form of what Stronghold could have been, and should be. This modpack converts Stronghold Crusader HD into the 1st Stronghold setting, using the mod 'Stronghold Europe'. In addition to this, it also utilizes the UCP (Unofficial Crusader Patch), which brings a plethora of game balances and improvements that should have been in the game from the start. Working with GOG
Compatible versions are Steam and GOG, Crusader HD. Extreme does not work at the moment.
Didn't work for me either until I ran the .exe in Compatibility with Win7
How to get this mod work with crusader extreme (steam version)??
Doesn't start. I have the steam version and after draggin the files in the directory and the .exe file doesn't start
I'm assuming it doesn't work with normal stronghold crusader?
Unplayable, says "out of range" on a black screen but i can hear the music, if i highlight it in the taskbar it shows the menu
Hello, is there a way to use the new UCP patch, V.2.15b? I just tried installing it over the old one but as soon as I did, it will load Stronghold Crusader instead of Stronghold Europe. Is there a way I can install it for myself?
Everthing else works fine as far as I can tell, really awesome to see that people are still modding games from my childhood.
Edit: Well, I tried to install it over the folder in your zip file and it worked. It now says 2.15b in the bottom left corner and I have running spearmen. I tried to get it work with the new .exe file of Cybercorpse, because he managed to transform the camles into bears, but then it won't work anymore.
It is also impossible to change the player color. It will always be blue in the skirmish menu and red when playing on the card, except for the skmirmish trail. Then the player is blue.
Hi, the mod is working fine for me, thanks a lot. I even managed to update it to the UCP 2.15b version. I ran the updater of the download folder with the Stronghold Crusader.exe and replaced the old .exe in my SHC folder.
I'm not sure if all the features are working though, but I got the running spearmen at least, which is a big plus. Also, unfortunately color switching doesn't work, I'm stuck with blue on the Stronghold Europe maps and with red on the old SCH maps.
Would you be willing to implement a feature, that makes it possible to update this mod with the UCP patch inside the SHC folder? When I try to update it in my SHC directory, the Stronghold Crusader.exe always reverts back and loads SHC instead of Stronghold Europe.
