ECWAlpha8 - latest full version incorporating patches 1 to 3
Installation – extract the mod’s folder into WFaS’s modules folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mount & blade with fire and sword\Modules).
Animated Shaders (ignore if previously installed ECWAlpha7 shaders) – Copy the mb_2a.fxo and mb_2b.fxo shader files to the main With Fire & Sword directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mount & blade with fire and sword). If you do not install these shader files, battle flags will be static and untextured white.
Optional installs:
1. Troop Labels in Battle - to revert to the standard sized WFaS/Warband Troop Labels that float over the heads of your troops - copy user_interface_b.brf from the \options\Resource sub-folder into ECWAlpha8's Resource folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mount & blade with fire and sword\Modules\ECWAlpha8\Resource).
2. World map zoom - to revert to the standard WFaS map_max_distance and see further on the world map - copy module.ini from the options sub-folder into ECWAlpha8's main folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mount & blade with fire and sword\Modules\ECWAlpha8).
3. World Map visibility - to replace the world map's foggy/muggy British weather with crystal clear visability - copy map.txt from the options sub_folder into ECWAlpha8's main folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mount & blade with fire and sword\Modules\ECWAlpha8).
4. Sepia - to replace the green menu pictures with sepia versions copy all dds files from the \options\textures sub-folder into ECWAlpha8's textures folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mount & blade with fire and sword\Modules\ECWAlpha8\textures).
ECWAlpha8 adds the following:
Mounted Bannermen carrying your chosen colours; recruitable from churches for 1,000 shillings. AI Lords also have Bannermen bearing their colours.
Churches - Catholic, Episcopalian, Presbyterian and Puritan - sermons, donations, funds and desecrations.
hoboistice revised combined capabilities for weapons and combat animations - adds thrust buffs, unlocks aimmable overhead stabbing & musket thrusts, allows rapiers and lances to thrust in two directions on foot and on horseback
German Halberdiers and Musketeers (recruitable from windmills) provided by Dazzer
Increased bandit spawn points, parties and highwaymen
ECWAlpha8 corrects the following:
Musketeers blocking instead of firing reported by YourStepDad and corrected by hoboistice (removes itc_parry_polarm flag on the firing version of muskets).
Cavalry ignoring commands to equip melee weapons due to PBOD field ai triggers reported by efilist and itruvor
Menu pictures for gunpowder mills
Quest still named bring goods to Zamoshye reported by hoboistice
Picture in pugilism fight obscuring text reported by hoboistice
Is this save compatible with the patch before?
No - ECWAlpha7 didn’t include churches on the campaign map. Any old saves will exclude these and the Bannermen who can be recruited from them.

Amazing mod! I seem to be having trouble by my own factions bridge guards following me and asking me if they can help, with no responses. Is this a bug?

This comes so much farther to realising what WF&S could be. Brilliant additions, will hope for updates because can only get better.

anyone else having this issue? it seems to happen with all WFAS mods i try to download. i load up the game and like 85% of the way it just crashes and freezes on the loading screen

3 years late but the solution is to go to
My Document >Mount&Blade; With Fire and Sword > rgl_config.txt
Change render_buffer_size = to how much RAM you have avialable.
1GB = 1000. For example, I have 16GB RAM, but I want to keep 6GB just in case I ALT+TAB, so I set mine to
render_buffer_size = 10000
Also fix other Warband mods
2 things i noticed: a)lincoln sneaking into town scene is same as siege scene.
b) the french mercenary post in france has no pathway yet
also cannonmen need to get some kind of command menu to not shoot, because my pikemen were in conflict with the cavalry and my canonners killed like 50% of my pikemen in 1 barrage.
other than those problems this mod is really promising and adds lots of new stuff :D
