Surprise demo release! Sort of! Contains chambers 00-10, just as the Portal 1 demo does. Happy Valentine's Day/Early if the download goes through faster than usual!
Put the mod into Sourcemods and restart Steam. After launching it, there should be a loading bar in the corner. Wait for this to fill up then manually close the game (ctrl+alt+del). Relaunch and you can play!
If you have a Sixense motion controller, then you have to disable it. Simply open up Steam and find the mod on your games list. Right click on it and set the launch options to "-nosixense." Then you can play.

You can also manually quit out of the game by opening up the developer console (`) and typing in "exit" (without the quotation marks).

Its great so far but i'd like to have the transmission received easter egg in it but that's just me, and the elevators leave so fast that you cant hear all of GLaDOS quotes.
nice maps, although I do want to know why this mod is taking so long, since all you are really doing is just copying original portal maps, its not like you have to come up with new puzzle designs.
But I did enjoy the maps.
Because we're actually making EVERYTHING from scratch and not just lazily decompiling the maps and changing textures? That's like asking why Black Mesa is taking so long. Remakes aren't just replacing models and textures then calling it done. It's a lot more work than that.

I got the same bug problem, but it showed up when u go to Test Chamber 03 when u have to go through gaps.
But it is a demo and I believe it can slide with some minor bugs and glitches.

This mod is even better and faster than most HL remake mods for HL2 that didn't finish in the nick of time.

You can get permanently stuck in Chamber 03 since you can place a portal on the ceiling near the broken wall and go through the framework. You should put a clip brush in front of it for the final version if you haven't already.
This demo is pretty amazing! The broken walls look a lot better in-game then they do in screenshots, the custom load screens look great, and the unique changes you made definitely give the mod a very different feel compared to both Portal and Portal 2. If there's one thing I could say I didn't like about this mod, it would just be the fact that you use the "please remain calm/remember your evacuation training" clips in the elevator rooms, which I believe are only meant to be used during a catastrophic emergency (In Portal 2 you only ever see those specific screens before GLaDOS is awakened, and after Wheatley takes over) Anyways, keep up the good work!

It just takes a long time. It did the same thing for me, wait for a few (or ten at the most) minutes and you should see that some of the dots are blue.
I can't get it to work. The game crashes after the intro videos.
Ive played the demo and it looks very good, but there where some things that, well I think could take a tweak or two. Inside test chamber 2, in Portal 1 the blue portal opened just in time for you to get there. But in your version I had to wait a little before the portal opened. I also had mixed feelings about the way you made chamber 1. Its different from Portal 1 AND Portal 2, either way you've done a good job mate.
Yeah, It just needs to be rotated 180. (The pedistal and everything)
I've found a bug in chamber 10 where you skip the first part of the chamber by portal standing, then something strange happens and it seems that you control this useless blue portal which has no orange portal at the end of it. There is then a second blue portal which is back in the original room where the original orange portal was which is then connected to the orange portal in the last room. That probably doesn't make any sense, so I've put up a unlisted video on youtube just to save the complication of explaining it.

I believe this happens as there is a trigger when passing through the door after the first jump, or something like that anyway. Since I'm just portalling past it I don't set off the trigger and it goes dodgy.
WHY. It was so addicting. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO END THE DEMO!
TBH, I'm not a fan of making Chamber 1 different to both official versions. Also, let me point out that Chambers 2 and 3 were never joined in anything official either.
But, apart from that, this seems to be very good, and thanks for keeping the pistons in Chamber 10 intact instead of replacing them with panels.
I would like to point out that the elevator instances do have inputs (in the form of @ entities) to stop the elevator from arriving until you want it to, which would prevent the dialogue from being cut off by players stepping in too early.

I have a problem loading all the maps for this mod which somehow crashed back to the desktop and back to Steam. The mod can load but the maps cannot. I have already followed instructions and disabled the firewalls.
I enjoyed playing it, But the broken walls still looked hideous to me ingame.
The end of this demo made me think the same thing I thought when I finished the portal 1 demo: Why does it have to end?
In chamber 2, you can place a blue portal and it's not connected to anything and the blue portal closest to the orange stays on and connected to the orange. That is something that NEEDS to be fixed.
There's a glitch I found in Test Chamber 03. If you shoot a portal on the ceiling near the frames of the test chamber and enter the orange portal, there is no player clip that prevents the player from going outside of the testing area. Here's a pic. Moddb.com

What really bugs me is the end of chamber 9...
In the original Portal the elevator wouldn't be there from the beginning because GlaDoS said that the test is impossible...
Since in Portal 2 the elevator always arrives just in the moment when you finish the puzzle this small detail would get lost.
In my opinion you could just let the elevator arrive a few seconds later than normally (if that's possible)
Anyway I enjoyed the demo!
the mod seems junk to me. i downloaded it and put it in the right directory and followed correct instructions and i started portal 2 and it said cant find portal 2 console/product/backround/loading/vtf. WHAT THE ****?! thats 2 MODS THAT ****** UP MY PORTAL 2. portal 2 VP AND THIS ****** IT UP! GOD DAMN IT!!
