We’re Team Artificial Selection.


A quick summary of our interests and game:

Artificial Selection is a 2D top-down shooter being made in a custom engine based in XNA. The game’s main focus is on evolution, both in AI and weapons, and the emergent game play that is derived from it. The engine and mechanics for a majority of the game have been developed, and more features are steadily being implemented. Music and sounds are created as needed.

However we’ve decided as a team that in order for Artificial Selection to be the success that we know it can be, we would really need the art to drive it straight to the hearts of our players. That is where YOU come in, skilled artisan wondering if they just might submit a resume! The answer is yes, yes you should, however we’re a impassioned group of developers, adamant about ensuring our projects prosperous existence; it’s unfortunately, no place for the faint of heart.

We as a team are a group of close friends and as such are very social. We not only would like to know of your schedule for business reasons, but so we can ensure we can help out to aide in creating a team-oriented environment. Gamedev is no fun alone after all, you’ll go crazy and wear a fez.

We’re three plus years into the development of our game Artificial Selection.
Currently our team consists of four members. Two of which joined within the last year.
We are looking to expand in the art department drastically as well; hoping to add one, possibly two additional artists. The roles are as follows:

Media Artist
- Artists are advised to have vector art knowledge
- Artists are required to have understandings of perspective, color theory, and illustration skills
- Artists are required to have a portfolio to demonstrate their skills and interests

Environmental Artist
- Artists are required to be able to create top down environments that can be split into pieces
- Artists are required to have a portfolio to demonstrate their skills and interests
- Artists are recommended to have an understanding of perspective, color theory, and other illustration skills
