Duel Mavericks (Mod/AddOn for Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist - Link Evolution on PC/Steam)

This mod aims to improve the singleplayer experience by adding a new storyline with 15 new story duels and 30 new competitive decks taken from the meta/fun-meta.

Features:

• Completely new storyline in which YOU are the protagonist
• Kaiba finally wants his revenge on Yugi and YOU have to help him accomplish this (see screenshots)
• 30 new duels: competitive decks are used such as True King Dinosaur, Thunder Dragon, Altergeist, Orcust, Salamangreat and many more (see screenshots)
• all 30 new duels are available in challenge mode for you to farm the cards for the deck recipe quickly so you can use the decks yourself
• a challenging CPU that uses these competitive decks very well and can pose a real threat even to experienced players (most CPU decks in the game before were fairly weak)
• the card arts have been changed to the japanese ones (uncensored Harpies, hurray!)
• a separate, optional speedmod to increase the gameplay speed up to 5x (the original game is awfully slow) - an alternative to the speed increase of CheatEngine

Getting started:

• backup your save file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata?????\1150640\remote)
• backup your YGO_2020.dat and YGO_2020.toc by renaming or moving them elsewhere (located where the .exe is)
• change the language of the game to english (link on how this is done: Steampowered Support)

Installation:

• copy the YGO_2020.dat and YGO_2020.toc from the mod .rar archive to where your game is installed (also where the .exe is located), overwriting when prompted AFTER backing up the original ones

Where the mod begins:

• the new campaign begins after the last VRAINS campaign mission, so that you would start it after completing the other campaigns and after learning all the game's mechanics
• you have to win the last VRAINS campaign mission again (even if you already did) to unlock the first new campaign mission (can't be done otherwise)
• after winning the campaign duels, you gotta win the Reverse duels to unlock all 30 decks in challenge mode under VRAINS
• the speedmod is within the mod .rar archive in a separate zip archive, follow the instructions in the speedmod readme exactly (!)

Additional info:

• all authors of the tools I used for the creation of the mod are given credit before the first campaign mission
• all authors of pictures used in the mod are given credit in a separate .txt in the mod .rar archive
• some decks had to be changed so that the CPU would use them better. Knightmare Phoenix and Linkuriboh had to be removed from the extra decks but are included in the side decks, so that you can still farm the cards against the CPU easily and quickly change the deck for yourself
• all deck recipes of the mod begin with "DM -"
• the optional speedmod might crash the game from time to time (it's still kinda experimental)

A friendly reminder:

• the banlist in this game (with the mod or without the mod!) applies ONLY to multiplayer, and NOT to singleplayer, so ignore it and build the decks you want (I'm looking at you "Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage!"), the game never tells you this

I hope you enjoy the mod as much as I did making it.
I created the mod because I missed a serious singleplayer challenge. I just play singleplayer and all decks are somehow too weak when faced with competitive decks, so I wanted to change that. And the new storyline came to mind in the process ;)
