I have decided to break the bread (sorry for the religious pun but it seemed a propos) earlier this week but I really wanted to get your feedback on some Hell screenshots. We had a huge team meeting this Monday regarding the art direction of Hell. Although eight heads are pretty good, an entire community of heads is awesome!
We also tried a new approach this week. There is an unique-to-our-blog article entitled Diagnostic: Indie Games Industry, which can only be accessed there. You guys should check it out! Oh and if you guys missed the Design Evolution of Greed, you can check that out on our website as well.
I will post a few screens with a short blurb giving it context. Please bare with us, they are all work in progress.
This is the backdrop for the second level in Hell. We would like to think that it is basically finished, other then the ruins on the right hand side. If you guys have any ideas, do not hesitate to share them.
This is within the first few steps from the start of the game. The edges of the lava aren't finished, nor is the horizon that merges the foreground with the background. We feel that we are missing something to make the start of the game special. From an artistic perspective, what do you guys think could make this area more fun?
What about this one? Again, the contours around the lava are missing as well as some textures. We went the Mario Bros. route and did not hang each hook or platform to a wall in the background. Some assets will be in mid air. What do you guys think of this approach?
This is a pile of rubble from a ruined building. The horizon still needs to be fixed up but what do you guys think in terms of assets? Are there too many? Does it look cluttered?
All your feedback will be passed on to the artists via the forums.

Look forward to hearing from you guys.
