Wow. What a week. Like really it has been chaos all this week in terms of getting stuff done and talking with people, but we managed to make an amazing amount of progress this week. Lets first get down to business and talk about models.

Kenny “Colt” Verzijl just recently skinned Scott “CzarBSS” Benes M26 Fragmentation Grenade and damn does it look sexy. You can see a thumbnail of it below. If you wish to see a larger picture of it, please click on the link. We also have a Viewpoint of the M26 Fragmentation Grenade with its skin on it. You can go to it by clicking here. The Viewpoint will allow you to zoom in/out, rotate, and pan around the model.

In other weapon modeling/skinning news, we have just recently hired another Weapon Skinner and you will get to see some of his work soon. We will introduce him then as well. Right now he is working on skinning the Tokarev TT33, Ka Bar knife, and Machete. You should get a peak in a week’s time.

We also hired a Vehicle Modeler as of recent. I would like to introduce a great guy called Dave “KiddieGrinder” Henson. He is a great guy and a very hard worker indeed. You can see below the first concept of our Huey UH-1 that he has made of us. You can click on it for a blown up shot of it.

Please note that you need to know some stuff about our Huey UH-1 at this moment. This render is only relative to what we have completed on the Huey. The smoothing groups are all messed up, so it’ll be flat shaded. The rotor blades are also hidden cause they’re blocking GI shadows. It is also missing the M-60s and the cockpit chairs. We also haven’t started any texturing of it yet. That should be done in about a week’s time.

We also have a movie of an earlier model of the Huey UH-1. It just shows off the Huey and maybe a concept take off with some soldiers on it. You can download it here.

Now onto the moment you have all been waiting for. In Game Screenshots!!! We have taken some screenshots that show off the Colt 1911A1 .45 Pistol in game. We have 1st person views and 3rd person views. Now please note that there is a problem with the placement of the pistol in the 3rd person view. It has already been fixed and we will release more in games screens in a couple of days. Also note that the map that you are looking at was built in a very short amount of time and is not representative of the actual maps that will be in the first release. You can click on the thumbnails for larger pics.

Work on the alpha is also progressing along very smoothly. We have almost found out how to implement our weapons and animations into it seamlessly. Implementing future weapons shouldn’t take long anymore and go without a hitch. We have also almost completed all the weapon functions and physics as well. But it could go a lot faster if we had some help.

Finally winding down, I would just like to remind you to be sure and vote (click this link to vote) as it helps us get our news and message out. Please be sure to visit us in the forums and IRC as well at #vmh on Gamesnet. And tell all your little buddies about V: MH!

This is Chris “DawnToDusk” Austin, signing off for the night.
