Lets start with the foundation of our faith.
If our foundation is not poured properly, the integrity of the rest of our faith will be weakened.
"That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." - 1 corinthians 2:5
Our source of info, I believe should be the bible. While going to church, watching good movies, and that stuff is fine, and definatly good for us. I believe the source, the foundation, should be placed in the bible. The word of God.
Am I being the best I can be? Am I pleasing God with the way I live my life?
These questions I find are good to ask our selves every now and then.
Lets look at Mark 9:43 - 47
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:"
We are not perfect, that is why Christ died, So that we can live our lives to the fullest and to glorify his name. So I find a desire in my self to want to be pleasing to God. And I think this verse will be good for anyone else who has the same desire. Just because we are imperfect doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for perfection. We need to be a light to the world, uneasily hidden so the world can see the love and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
How to fight against sin, when we are losing?
This I find so much when I feel weak, I wonder how can I overcome this?
Will I be able to? How do I do it?
I think sharing, whether to God or just someone to lean on, is a good way to Help.
Sometimes we Can't do it ourselves, which is why we need God.
I find the harder I try to do it my self, the weaker I get.
But when I share it with God, or a friend. I find that they can help overcome it.
We need to release the truth before the healing can begin.
I also find rather then focusing on the sin, we can focus on God.
When ever you feel tempted, seek God, Give him praise.
I wish I could help more on this topic, but this is all I have right now.

Good read. We must also remember that there are false teachers within the church that teach things that are NOT Biblical and contradict what God and Jesus said. Both Old and New Testaments are still relevant. The whole of God's Word is relevant. Anyone who teaches otherwise commits blasphemy. Thats just Biblical common sense.
