A new post on the PlayStation Blog from Sony Interactive Entertainment America’s director of social media reminds everyone that a PlayStation Meeting is taking place tomorrow in New York. Though the event itself is only open to members of the press, the whole thing will be livestreamed at live.playstation.com.

At the event, it is expected that Sony will unveil two new consoles. One is the PlayStation 4 Slim, a redesigned model of the launch PS4, though smaller and slimmer. It contains much the same hardware specs, though it adds 4K video output, and adds a light bar on the front of the DualShock 4’s touchpad.

The other console is one that was first referred to as the “PlayStation 4.5”, and later by Sony’s internal codename, “Neo”. This is a PlayStation 4 console with upgraded hardware – though the degree to which it outperforms a launch PS4 is currently unknown. It’s likely the hardware upgrade will provide better compatibility with PlayStation VR games, though Sony claims all PlayStation VR games will run on all PS4 console hardware.

The PlayStation Meeting begins on September 7 at 12:00pm Pacific / 3:00pm Eastern.
