Once again, my weekly update schedule is being cast into disrepute by my distinctly non-weekly update schedule. Oh well. I wanted to show you something more than just workflows and other non-game rubbish. Unfortunately, March is an exceedingly busy month for me, with numerous birthdays - including my own and my father's - to distract me!
So, "What have you been doing, you lazy, useless, non-updating scoundrel?" I hear you ask...
Well, I've been making more of those tiling textures - my library now contains thirty-seven textures, mostly at a resolution of 2048x2048 pixels - a substantial increase in quality over those typically found in Crysis 2. Wih these textures, I've began making props for my maps, including the so-called New Mill - hence the notable lack of grunge in its textures - it's freshly-painted!
I've also spent horrifying amounts of time laboriously laying out fences to make the vast fields that support Kingstown's livestock and farming - and thus its population. You can now finally see something that looks like an actual real level that you can walk around! EXCITINGZ!
Have a look at the images below for a night-time preview (my map won't launch in day-time for some reason - yet another problem to fix... but not today; I've been up since 6am, thus, I'm going to get drunk. Edit: Fixed!)
Mother of god...Those two screenshots look like real photographs. I had to double check them in full screen to be sure.
Awesome work there, especially with the mill!
Heh, thanks man :D
It's the wonderful CryEngine which is mostly to thank... it's incredible!
Beautiful!
Thanks ;)
