Hello everyone!

As we mentioned at the end of last year we were excited to take in the news of Post Scriptum's (Now Squad 44's) acquisition by OWI, and since then have resumed work on the project. We took the time over New Year and January to reorganise and get back into gear and think about what we wanted to do this year. We are happy to say we are now picking up the pace of progress, and want to share with you what to expect.

Advance on Bardia

We'd like to show you some areas of the long awaited second map "Bardia"! We are looking to do infantry playtests during or by the end of Q1. The terrain offers a vastly different challenge to our previous map, with a coastal town overlooking a rural valley, with many landmarks scattered across a 3x3km landscape. The map has stunning views of the Mediterranean (off towards Crete!) and has been faithfully recreated from historical photos, drawings and maps of the era.

Faction Focused

With the addition of the new map, the factions on both sides will also be different. The Commonwealth forces will be represented by the South African 2nd Infantry Division :2ndSA: who fought against the servicemen of the Regio Esercito :Ita:.We are currently focusing our efforts on Italian weapons with the aim to get them into the previously mentioned playtests.

We recognise that our mod has only been available to play due to the dedication of community server hosters.

We want to extend our thanks to them for supporting the mod! We are looking at ways to best make the content we are working on playable for the widest possible audience, including reviewing our own server hosting options so stay tuned for updates coming soon!

Regards,

The Shifting Sands Team
