THIS INTERNSHIP IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

Hello everybody,

Rise of Mordor is currently seeking a new 3D Intern to contribute to our team and our modification. Being a 3D Intern with the Rise of Mordor Development Team consists of the following;

  • Assisting other artists with small tasks such as making LODs and optimising existing models,
  • Fixing issues with existing models, including their design, textures and rigging,
  • Creating simple assets based on skills you've learnt from working with existing assets.

Please note - the above list is ordered in timescale order. Initially, the first bullet-point will be the focus of the position. Later, the second. Even later, the third.

The successful intern will receive an offer to join the Rise of Mordor Development Team permanently as a 3D Artist, and will work on professionally-designed models for the Rise of Mordor modification.

THIS INTERNSHIP IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

Please see the requirements below:

  • No experience required in 3D design. All technical knowledge will be taught and provided. The intention of this internship is to make a 3D Artist out of anybody that is willing to learn the craft.
  • A dedication towards learning 3D design and anything related is essential.
  • Lots of spare time is required to learn all relevant knowledge of the tools used and how to use them, and to spend time practising and perfecting either existing or, at the later stages of the internship, your own assets.

If you feel you suit this specification, please get in touch with us through either email (via the email address below) or our Discord server (via the '!apply' command - a detailed description of which is in our #recruitment channel on the server). Keep in mind that, like many other internships, this is unpaid.

We look forward to hearing from eager individuals.

Are interns getting paid at your mod team? Asking the important questions :D

To be honest I feel like them teaching us for free alone is worth it. I've been looking at the mod waiting for an opening in the programming department lol but I would have taken this had I not started a project this summer. Regardless I think it sounds like a great opportunity for people interested in both 3D art and modeling as well as Lord of the Rings

If you have decent programming skills, you can always contact me (preferrably after June ends). The only project I'm currently in, is development of campaign map making tools (yeah, you heard it right and it's more than real).

RoM members are working on the mod for free in their free time.

I am well aware of that, being myself a modder and knowing a bit the modding community ^^

Is the 3d artist role paid? Seems weird to be an unpaid intern for a passion project mod to move up to be an unpaid artist.

The point of intern is to learn from experienced team members in the first place, not to get paid :P

This is a really great idea and having people teach you is really priceless. Usually teachers ask for money, i think people don't get this. And 3D art schools are very expensive. If i was liking Total War i would apply eyes closed.

Is this offer still up for grabs? and are there any other requirements not specified in the article?
