A week ago we reported on Sony’s reveal that every PlayStation VR headset would come with a free demo disc – and that disc would include eight PlayStation VR games to try out. While that’s still accurate, there’s more to the story.
Sony has since revealed that those eight games will be available on the European version of the demo disc. In the United States and Canada, the demo disc will contain an extra 10 PlayStation VR games, bringing the total up to 18. Those other games will not be included in the European demo disc.
The US/Canadian demo list includes:

- DriveClub VR
- Eve: Valkyrie
- Gnog
- Harmonix Music VR
- Headmaster
- Here They Lie
- Job Simulator
- PlayStation VR Worlds
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- Rez Infinite
- Rigs Mechanized Combat League
- Thumper
- Tumble VR
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
- Wayward Sky
- Within
We’re not sure of the reason behind the discrepancy in demo allocations across regions – it could potentially come down to complex licensing issues. However, Sony has stated in its US demo disc post that “The demo disc will also be available for download at PlayStation Store for free after PS VR launches.” Potentially this means European customers could download the extra US demos once the PlayStation VR hardware launches on October 13.
