I am pleased to announce that ILLYISM, Bard and Field Marshall of Mercinae was successful in what became a seven hour marathon of sands quests on the Battleisle.
Illyism strolled to victory over the final four consisting himself, Xion, Alarius and Xyla after demonstrating a strong performance throughout the quest; his wily strategy proving that brute strength is scarcely all that wins the day.
Prizes will be forthcoming for all strong competitors and in particular I'd like to say a big well done to all of the juniors and middling players who competed: hopefully you all have a taste for blood and battle and shall compete again.
Congratulations to Illyism on becoming the first contender in Avalon's twelfth ordination. He will find - as have all contenders before him - that this is just the beginning...
