Oculus has announced that the first Oculus-ready PCs will go up for pre-order on February 16. These PCs are certified by Oculus as being powerful enough to run the consumer version of the Rift headset at optimum capacity.
It's not just the PC you'll be getting, though - these bundles include the Rift headset itself, along with all of the Rift's pack-in goodies - a wireless Xbox One controller, as well as EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale.
The PCs themselves have a number of different builds, from different manufacturers, to choose from - all at different price points. The cheapest comes from ASUS in the form of the G11CD, starting at US$949, while the most expensive is the Alienware Area 51 at US$2549.
The Oculus-ready PC bundles will begin shipping in April, and can be purchased from Best Buy, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store. Those who have already pre-ordered a standalone Rift headset aren't left in the lurch, however, as Oculus states:
"For those who’ve already pre-ordered Rift, you’ll be able to purchase discounted Oculus Ready PCs in select countries and regions. To claim your discount, check your order status and opt into partner offers if you haven’t already. Offer codes will appear on your order status page February 16."
