Oculus has announced that Oculus Connect 3, the company’s conference where key VR announcements are made, will take place on October 5 – October 7 this year. The conference will be held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in California.

“Oculus Connect is where engineers, designers, and creatives from around the world come together to push the virtual reality community forward with the Oculus platform. Experience the latest VR content, hear from industry leaders, and get hands-on with design and engineering workshops.”

This third conference is actually taking place slightly later in the year than the previous two, both of which were held in September. It’s likely that this is to coincide with information concerning the impending release of the Oculus Touch controller, which has been said to be launching sometime this year. It’s unlikely that the conference will hold Oculus Touch content as a key announcement, considering it recently announced over 30 Oculus Touch games being available by the end of the year at E3.

Oculus Connect 2 in 2015 revealed a number of new titles for the Gear VR. It also included a presentation from chief scientist Michael Abrash, who detailed the long-term goals for Oculus on the hardware side – including new Rift models with higher fields of view and a more ergonomic design.
