We have been extremely lucky of late to have an influx of such high quality modellers/texturists on the team. With such talent, we decided to make another look at our shiplist and revamp some of the models we thought needed some love. If you've been following this mod in the past few months, you've seen the incredible contributions from Kalo, Dr. Knickers and Lord X. This news piece showcases the brilliant pieces of art completed by Sizer.
The first ship up to be redone was our I7 Howlrunner. The model we originally had fit the schematic seen below completely

That being said, we felt as a development team that the model itself was a little bland. Similarly to what we did with the E-Wing, we let Sizer used some of his artistic creativity and make the model much more pleasing to the eye.
As you can see the little bit of detailing and altering to the model really put it in line with some of our more stunning ships.
After seeing this fabulous work of art, I asked Sizer to take a look at our T-Wing. It was in the same boat as the I7 Howlrunner; canon model but bland.

Given the same artistic freedom he used with the I7, Sizer created this:
The Corellians have Sizer to thank for the wonderful remodelling of their core fighters!
And, saving the best for last, Sizer also went to work on our Escort Carrier. I was so pleased with the results!
Using this boring schematic:

Sizer created this:
As you can see, the graphic design team is absolutely top notch and we all are lucky to have them devote their time and efforts on this mod.
The last thing that I wanted to show our loyal fans was regarding a new infocard system. For those of you unfamiliar with Freelancer, infocards contain statistics about the vessel as well as background information regarding the development and purpose of the ship. Currian, our lead infocard writer, has really gone above and beyond my expectations with the creation of some of the most informative and interesting infocards I've seen in Freelancer. As well, with Adoxa's hack, he's created a very user friendly system which divides the information into background and technical specifications. Below is a video demonstration of the new infocard system:

this looks really good, as always :-)
OMFG T-WING!!! Love the detail on those ships.
They look awesome... god job (Y) :D
Great ships, but can anyone do the Defiant out of DS9, would love to fly that ship. cheers
Fuuuuuuuuu, Star Trek queers xD
This is a Star Wars mod so you won't see that here, lol. But thanks for the kind words.
can you land fighters on the esquort Carrier because it is a Carrier
yes, you will be able to
Pure Awesomeness !!!
Escort Carriers for the win x)
Love those thingys^^
Always built them in SW:Rebellion
@cygna Though I really love that ship, soz cuzz. This is a Star Wars themed mod and we're trying to stick to canon as much as we can with the shiplist.
The models look Great :D
Anyone else think the Escort Carrier looks like a catfish? Does the Escort Carrier bite :p
I thought more whale, but I totally see the catfish!
And it might nom on other ships...nom nom nom
How large is the Escort carrier to the corellian corvette? Would love to see a side by side photo of them :D (maybe next time you do a major update hehe ;) )
also is there any plans or talks in adding in the Corellian Buccaneer or maybe even the FarStar type (extensively modified with a large hangar bay) that maybe could be used as a small carrier?
Love the work your guys are doing, keep it up :)
Great to see such wonderful stuff being built for FW:ToW. Can't wait to play it!
Some interesting takes on those fighters, I always feel that with EU material you can take it with a pinch of salt as far as canon details are concerned, and if you can improve on while still keeping the essence of the design? Well why the hell not? If there was ever a ship in need of a bit of redesign love it is the T-Wing and you've done a great job of that, makes it actually look like an interesting ship now. Get on the K-Wing next if that is in your mod because that thing is just Ug-Leee!
Loving your take on the Escort Carrier too, always has looked very uninteresting from schematics in EU source books so it is good to see some new life breathed into the old girl.
Keep this great work coming.
Thanks, Talon. Your comments and critiques are always welcome here! I'll see if Sizer is willing to try his hand at redoing the K-Wing :)
This is looking great. Hope my computer can handle this mod. Will christmas come early this year!???
I think this as most of all your other updates is amazing. I'm a bit worried that they will be a bit too artistic though, to me I think some of them might have lost part of their original SW feel.
For example, to me the T-wing feels a bit like something between a helicopter and a jet plane. It looks really cool, but I would for example think that maybe making the exhaust ports rounder would be a good idea, similar to a lot of other SW ships. I personally like this pic for reference: Starwars.wikia.com. Maybe same for Howlrunner, a bit more strict lines when it comes to the front maybe. Can't really be seen from this angle though.
Know that they will all be completely different once textured so don't take this critisism too seriously. Just wanted to add some viewpoints. ^^ They do really look awesome after all!
If "original SW feel" means butt-ugly, dated designs, then sign me up for the refreshed look.
I was thinking more of a balance of the two. But still, point taken. ^^
I like the I7, it looks really good.
The T-Wing however..looks more like a speeder than a fighter. I don't know why you got rid of the wings for the most part, but it really needs them. More circular engines would be nice as well. And the whole back being much smaller than the front really is something completely different than how most SW fighters/ships are.
The Escort Carrier..well, the boxes on the outside don't do much to disguise the plainness of the model, and in fact just highlight it even more.
Interesting, the I7 is the model I like the least out of these redesigns and the T-Wing and Escort Carrier are the takes that I think are more successful, different strokes for different folks I guess.
I see where you're coming from with the T-Wing, the much larger cockpit area does give it a little bit of a speeder feel about it, but I like what they've done there, works for me.
Amazing modeller!! Can I clone him? :D
Wings of the T-wing looks to small....
Speaking as someone who as flown Ties for the last 2 years in the old freeworlds, I could totally see myself flying that T-wing.
