The PlayStation VR headset might not have batteries that need recharging, but its input devices sure do. The DualShock 4 gamepad, as well as the optional two PlayStation Move controllers, all require fully charged batteries to get the most out of their admittedly rather short lifespans. And with the freedom of movement VR affords, you won’t want to play while charging from a USB cable, no matter how long it is.

To keep you in the habit of replacing everything on a charger once you’re done with it, a couple of new PlayStation VR accessories are available for pre-order on Amazon and GameStop. Both perform largely the same function, acting as display stands for all your PlayStation VR gear, while simultaneously charging any controllers – including gamepads and Move wands.

The first is the Power A Charge and Display Stand for PSVR from BD&A. It retails for US$49.99 on Amazon, and contains a display stand for the PlayStation VR headset, as well as charging slots for one DualShock 4 controller, and two PlayStation Move controllers.

The second accessory is from GameStop, and is called the PlayStation VR Showcase Rapid AC Charge and Display Stand, from Collective Minds. It retails for US$34.99. Though cheaper, the difference with this stand is that it contains a second controller charging slot, so you can charge two DualShock 4 gamepads at the same time as two PlayStation Move wands. It also contains extra USB ports for any additional charging requirements.

Previously we detailed an officially PlayStation VR carrying case, as well as reported that the PlayStation Move controllers would be back in stock – available in a new twin pack. Though a display stand might seem like overkill, we imagine one of the first things new PlayStation VR buyers will need to figure out is just where to keep everything once it’s all unboxed. It probably won't be long before we see stands with a space for a PlayStation VR Aim Controller, too.
