The real map of Europe not being the most optimized in terms of gameplay, we decided to add the possibility of traveling by boat. But it's not a simple addition of a free boat to go where you wants, which would make the gameplay too bland and make the player's movement too much easier!
So, you can buy and sell different types of boats, give them a name, choose your flagship, navigate between the different ports, land at a landing area, use ferries to cross small rivers and streams, manage your ship fleets. Armies and looters can use this to navigate freely or come with you at sea. Player speed is affected by the speed of his ships, how much crew he has and and the condition of his boat...
The ferry allows you to cross rivers or small bodies of water. You board a completely safe and powerful ship that no other fleet would dare to attack, but of course this comes at a cost!
Landing Area (red flag)
Some beaches are accessible! Unload your troops far from ports and sights! Spread fear and launch your raids in small isolated villages!
Port (green flag)
Most coastal towns have a port. You can ask to travel safely to another port or use your own fleet to move freely, but you will no longer be safe from a possible attack! (for the moment, no naval battle). You can return to land via other ports, ferries and landing zones. Know that your fleet will stay where you left it! Leaving your fleet in a port will cost you money!
Managing your fleets (ALT-M or ALT-?)
Buy, resell and improve your fleet according to your needs. Owning a fleet has a cost! It must be maintained because the boats wear out, you will need materials such as wood, iron (...) If your fleet is too big and you don't have enough men (and therefore crew) to manage it, you will be slow. You can find your fleet for a little money and patience with a transport system between ports.
