You may have noticed that virtually every date on the site says "posted 5 mins 20 seconds ago". There is good reason for this, you see managing timezones and daylight saving all around the world is a virtual nightmare. So the solution is not to show any time at all and instead display a countdown. However thanks to a PHP function: date_default_timezone_set managing timezones is now very easy.

So whilst most dates will remain "5 mins 20 seconds ago", provided you set the correct date when you edit your profile, all dates on the site should now be 100% accurate for you.
Does it take day time saving into consideration? Sometimes this is a problem as DST is rather inconsistent.
They are to an extent. We have provided approximate 50 timezones to choose from, though there are over 500 or something. Its not perfect, but these are the most important ones.
Also just patched a critical bug which was preventing some downloads from working.
:O nice
Thats nice imo.
Light speed development cycle for this one ;)
But regardless of sarcasm, time zones aren't really a top priority whilst there is some form of time function available :D
Ah, thanks for adding time zones.
But is it re-synced to an atomic clock every 12 hours?

Dam, can't find Melbourne :(
Well done. An important feature even though it's not usually given much thought.
Nice :)
Can't Believe it Adelaide Timezone is listed over here!
