Post news RSS Linux Port on it's way!

TL;DR: Patch Beta 3.2 will be available for Linux users exclusively soon.

Almost all testing and development of new features is done in Linux now, after porting the code to work with GLFW to simplify the context creation for OpenGL and rewriting the audio engine to exclusively use the Software DSP written by Alexey Menshikov which interfaces with the soundcard/chip via WinMM for Windows and ALSA for Linux, I found Linux actually gives the better performance and is far easier to debug.

The game has been tested and works in Ubuntu 12.x and 13.x and all Ubuntu based Distros should also support it similarly well. (I use Linux Mint 15)

There is one final bug that needs to be fixed, a game crash that occurs with an animation, most likely an overflow or access violation, the game is in a playable state though.

I am interested in getting some help in the future with the final release, any Nix programmers are welcome to ask.

I am a relatively experienced Linux user and have used Linux for the last 4 years and especially in the last 1. I am very excited to hear one of my favorite games is getting a Linux port, and although I am poor at programming and graphic designing, I am willing to help in whatever way I can including testing. Speaking of which, is there a place to get this yet?
