Designation: APC-5
Affiliation: GDI
Role: Anti- infantry Troop Carrier
Armament: Heavy MGs
Type: Medium Transport
Speed: Medium

Background

After the end of TW2, Nod's survivors used basic militia foot soldiers to attack GDI positions. With their very huge numbers, and with GDI having terminated the walker project, and with it the Wolverines, Nod managed multiple hits. The GDI Council ordered a science team to develop an anti-infantry unit which would crush Nod's infantry raids. The team decided to upgrade the design of the Amphibious APC, adding a heavy MG, heavy armor and windows for the infantry to shoot from while being carried. Unfortunately, because of the huge weight, it lost its amphibious abillities. The GDI Council though, didn't give the green light, because the unit was too expensive considering GDI's military budget. The scientific team concluded on a lighter unit, which was named just APC.

The APC served well for a long time, until the middle of TW3, when Nod reintroduced Cyborg units to the battlefield. The APCs lost the battles against some teams of Cyborgs, and even worse, couldn't transport units in well protected Nod territory as they were destroyed by some Scorpion Mk2 hits. The GDI Council concluded that the old Goliath APC design was the most suitable for that situation, and ordered its pruduction on the battlefield, in order to avoid such drawbacks. The heavier Goliath APC could take some hits and remain intact while on transporting missions, and its heavy MG could take out any Nod infantry. It also proved good against Scrin's half organic-half machine units. The Goliath APC was also able to lay EMP mines in order to avoid being chased down by enemy vehicles.

" The Goliath APC is one of the most versatile and dangerous units GDI has. When you order your soldiers to garisson a structure and then you see a Goliath APC, don't feel safe, as it might carry Disc Throwers. Also, always protect your base with as many anti-armor defenses as you can, as many battles were lost because a Goliath APC transported an Engineer in our bases. You must also watch out for them when you attack with your air force, as they excel at taking out our aircraft. Be mindfull, because such a unit at the hands of a smart GDI commander could be as dangerous as a Mammoth Tank."

--Nod Commander Guide, GDI's Arsenal--

Electromagnetic Games
The Goliath APC can place EMP mines, and do something that Nod is known for, guerilla warfare. When an enemy vehicle crushes one of the EMP mines, its systems turn off and its really vulnerable. From that time, other GDI units can take out the frozen vehicles, and when that's done, the Goliath places more and waits for its next victim.

Stronger Ammo
The Goliath APC can be upgraded with AP Ammo, in order to kill enemy heavy infantry more easily, take down aircraft quicker and do some damage at enemy vehicles.

to show all the infantry getting into the APC? that would be meaningless, as it would be boring(imagine a videowhich is 6 minutes long showing all kinds of infantry getting in the APC and shooting from it)

why 6 minutes? 10 seconds for each combo :)
it will be less then 1 minute.

there are nod and scrin too. anyway, a video with 1 minute of loading-driving-shooting and repeat would be boring. thats why we have profiles, to point out things that werent so clear in the vid.

surely not as boring as such a video. and it seems boring to u only because u have it under ur command, but if we made the profile of some v1.5 unit i dont think u would have the same opinion.

Not needed, it's a profile of the APC itself. it shows what it can do.. the troops in it are just extra.

Nice profile playmsbk.
