Hello FarCry Modders and Gamers alike,
San-J from the DrugWars mod here. We have an announcement, that we want the whole community to hear. We're in the process of arranging and setting up a Gore System Coalition of FarCry mod groups. What does this mean? That we're looking for mod teams who'd be interested in joining this coalition, to design a gore system (and program and implement it), for participating FarCry mods. Basically, if you help out making a gore system for FarCry, you may use it in your FarCry mod. Additionally, we'll make a standalone mod for FarCry that uses our gore system. Though the fine details are obviously still being thought out, the basic idea of the extent to which this gore system will provide mods with realistic gore is clear. We are aiming for full dismemberment support, character skin effects, such as blood running down their clothes, and improved environmental blood decals. Imagine shooting an enemy online in your favorite mod, watching their arm detach, the nearby plants being splattered with pixel shaded blood, and looking down to see that shaded blood is running out of their mouths. Sure, that may just seem be a sick fantasy, but our goal is to make it a reality, for all mods that join us. Once this is in place, we hope to use the code to improve environmental damage, particularly on vegetation.
