I thought I would just post here to let everyone know what is going in, it has been a roller coaster few days.
Firstly you may have noticed we have had to move websites - this was completely out of our control. You may have seen or heard about the news or a worm virus that spread across the net, well yes, it got kots. It took down all the links to the database where all your characters are held, meaning both the website and the servers were unable to communicate with the GDS or database. Once the database was all back up and running, we thought that was it but NO!. The website was still not functional, we contacted gamespy about this, and they came back and said due to the worm attack they are not allowing external access to MSSQL databases. This meant our site will never work there. So after many years of good hosting and community build up we were forced to find a new home. I have been working on a new design site to take into consideration the suggestions and criticisms of the current design, and this will be released when I think it is ready.
On top of all that the 1.4 release gave us more problems, after just 2 days of its release we found that we have a big problem, where by games with only bots in were not finishing, this meant we needed a fix and quick, thanks to our excellent development team, that happened and we had a fix only a few hours from diagnosing the problem.
We are also currently revising the scoring system, this has been a noted problem that higher levels are finding it very hard to get a + score. This is putting a lot of people that have put much of the time into the mod off. The new scoring system is almost looking from the ground up at where things can be changed, and once it is final what we are doing we will post on the forum the general idea so we can get some feedback, most of which obviously you can't make a decision until it has been tried and tested. This hopefully should be in place by the version 1.5.
Lastly I would like to thank all of you for sticking with the mod during the beta days, and helping us get it right, we owe you a lot.
