The Conqueror was selected for all these reasons. It was able to increase the Tiberium level of the area by seeding Tiberium without consuming anything. Scrin was also low on funds for that operation and needed a unit that was able to recycle other units, both Scrin and human, so that they didnt have to produce more units for extra firepower. And as Tiberium for healing was low, they used the Conqueror's radiation for that purpose. They also needed a unit for repelling GDI attacks on their Thresold constructing sites. Finally, the Conqueror was versatile, as it could have extra weapons for one-on-one battles and could loot the weapons of human artillery walkers to become an artillery piece itself.

Reporter: Why is the Conqueror able to capture walker husks instead of just upgrading like the Mk2 and what makes it different to the Eradicator Hexapod in KW?
Carnius: Conqueror was most difficult unit i made so far. At the begin was idea to add to scrin something big, not because its in KW but because i wish scrin have such big unit before KW was announced, it somehow fits to aliens very well . Big epic units its not KW invention anyway, it was in down of war games before KW and maybe we can find more games with similar game mechanics. But it was KW or rather disappointment from KW and its epic units which pushed me to made this mod. I dont mean to say KW is bad game or epic units are so wrong. No, they are interesting units, but its just not what i have expected. I believe that epic units should represent its faction so i feel Eradicator its not the right unit on right place. Scrin should be tiberium based faction, i know they are not in CnC3, but honestly they came to erath to harvest tiberium, because they need tiberium, therefore tiberium should be the very essence of their technology and epic unit should reflect that too, that is why i think Eradicator is fail at first place.
So i made this tiberium based epic unit. Design itself was fun, i set my imagination at loose during development of this model, of course i gain inspiration from living creatures specially mantis and crab. Its only ability was tiberium seed, but i was not sure its enough to make this unit different and interesting so i have annonced conqueror as scrin epic to public. But most people was not quite satisfied that scrin epic is not mothership, also pointed out that current conqueror is just green mammoth mark II able to seed tiberium. Then i decided run two epics for scrin, conqueror and mothership. But they cant be both too powerful so it was needed for game balance to set one of them as support epic. I chose conqueror because it was more suitable for this purpose. After long testing several versions, which became very difficult and weary process, i find one that felt as best solution. Conqueror gain one big area of effect laser, tiberium seed and tiberium radiation which heals all scrin units around him and in addition ability to get upgrades from husks of destroyed t3 units. I didnt chose classic upgrade system on conqueror because two things: first game balance, if money is the only restrictions to gain this upgrades then is too easy to turn conqeror to killing machine, second i think that ability to assimilate technology fits well to scrin as advanced race and i also wanted leave some chance for conqueror became powerful unit it initially should be. So at the end we have support epic which is unable to handle mammoth marK II alone, but if you get this upgrades mammoth got no chance. Usually you dont get them all, so conqueror is not OP, but its interesting game mechanics and makes conqueror really different from any other epic unit.
Money, Medical Care, Firepower, What Else Do You Need!?
The Scrin Conqueror can seed Tiberium and help the Scrin's economy a little. It's also a moving hospital, as the radiation it gives out heals all Scrin units. Finally, in terms of firepower, when fully upgraded it can destroy even a Mammoth Mk2.

yeah, really weird that bug... secretcroc and i didn't see this 1.
We cant light up most of scrin units, unlike the nod and gdi units because they dont have any prehistory on the C&C series and i cant connect them with any people or events on previous C&C games.
yeah, i added it because of the reasons mentioned above plus the thing i wasnt very creative.

nice interview. and i really like the idea of the purpose of what the conquer can do as not being as powerful as the mk 2 from start until keeping it alive by collecting more weapons from husks which isnt easy but once done it be stronger than mk 2. and since it has low defence body strength and giving it the ability to plant tib to help heal it was great! theres 1 thing im woundering how come the corrupters doesnt heal it and when its as herotic rank its body doesnt become more tougher?

GDI have many ways how counter it too.I am wondering if the Conqueror is immune againts EMP mines,EMP coils,devourer tank,and Falcon stun abilities.True is that with backup of healers(Corrupters) and some AA its capabilities and firepower is really exceptional.But seed tiberium cooldown is way too long,and healing radiation is too slow or buggy just like Medic Squads are.Compared to Assault Mothership,its little bit dissapoitnment.But I just, must love him.
