Battlefield 3 is expected to have similar system requirements as the previous Battlefield game, Bad Company 2. Battlefield 3 is powered by the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which is based on the previous Frostbite 1.5, which powered Bad Company 2.
While the Frostbite 2.0 engine has a lot of new features compared to 1.5, it is also more optimized as well, which will most likely result in similar performance and Battlefield 3 system requirements for the PC. Since Battlefield 3 won’t be supporting DirecX 9, it won’t run on Windows XP.
Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3
- OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
- Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
- RAM: 2GB
- Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card.
- Graphics card memory: 512 MB
- Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Recommended system requirements for Battlefield 3

so this wont work on a xp. :( time to get windows 7
Yeah, i upgraded to windows 7 only when i found out directx 10 and 11 works only at seven.
knew i should have upgrades my video card too.. its right in the middle of the minimum and recommended. though ill still be able to run this easily(since i run BC2 with average of 50 to 60FPS)still need to upgrade it.
the rest is all a piece of cake for my rig
intel i7-2600K 2nd generation 3.4Ghz unlocked <---(Multithreading = 8 cores!)

I am ready >:3
woah
time to buy a new pc :P
How it would work maxed out on:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500 2.82 GHz
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GTS450 1GB
??
Not very good, i dont think "maxed out" is within your reach :(
I'm having a
AMD PhenomII X6 1090T @3.20Ghz
AMD Radeon HD6950 2GB GDDR5
8GB GeIl Black Dragon DDR3 Memory
I'm pretty sure I can easily run the game, but will it be necessary for me to upgrade my system by adding another graphic card?
Can my video card compensate for my single core proc or i have to buy a new PC
No, it cant? lol...Your CPU and GPU must match eachother...so, with only 1 core, you have less threads between your GPU kernel and CPU kernel, so it can never run "Maxed out" its bottle-necking each other.
not the ******* real ones...
