Since the release of AR2 3.8 5 weeks ago people have wondered and asked what exactly new features there will be in the mentioned AR2 4.0 version. Here is a brief rundown of the list of solid features.
- Fatal Bug Fixed: We see the fact that AR2 crashes a lot is seriously hurting the playing experience, and we have decided to fix it. We will make sure version 4.0 is played buglessly with as little feature loss as possible.
- All New Units: Other than the existing units in version 3.8, version 4.0 will add all new units to the arsenal. The new units include Mutated Nemesis Conscripts, Nemesis Phlogiston Missile Tank, Nemesis Armageddon, Genesis Maelstrom, buildable MCV and more. Note that these testing units might or might not make into the final version.
-New Buildings: Genesis city structures have been made and put into the mod, others coming, as well as two new Nemesis tech structure: the Nemesis Aeronautics Facility and Nemesis Obsolete Vinifera Processing Plant, which could give Nemesis commanders a big advantage when captured on maps. Buildable Structure Graphics will also be added and improved.
-Whole New Maps: AR2 4.0 will include maps in 3.8 and the map packs, as well as other addition and improvements.
And most importantly:
-Nemesis Campaign: There is a Nemesis campaign of 7-9 missions secretly in the making. It might or might not be released with AR2 4.0 but this exciting set of challenging missions that unfold the conspiracy and vengeance going on on Atrigo will surely hit in the future.
There are many other things going on but they cannot be made into promise yet. More details will surely come when possible. Meanwhile AR2 3.8 is still the latest version for download and skirmish/ internet play, and we are pleased to announce that the full and lite version have hit 7500+ downloads in their first 5 weeks since the release.
