This Mod is the full version of Wolfenstein 3D, with Episode 1 greatly modified, and Level 9 of said episode now fixed (i.e. there's now just 100 enemies to face, which means you shouldn't run out of ammo; sincere apologies for getting that wrong in my original release). It also has all the missions from the original Spear of Destiny episodes (including Mission 2: Return to Danger, and Mission 3: Ultimate Challenge).
The music - for the levels of Episode 1 of Wolfenstein 3D - is a heck of a lot better than the original version, and I've tweaked a couple of the music tracks by adding a couple of other sounds to make them even more spine-tingling and surreal than ever before!
Lastly, I will say that Episode 1 of Wolfenstein 3D is a lot harder than the original version, which is very deliberate on my part, as I felt that Episode 1 was a bit too easy at times, and also a bit boring, and it needed some "new life" to be breathed into it.
This Mod contains the following games:
(1) Wolfenstein 3D: All 6 episodes, each with 9 levels and 1 secret level, with Episode 1 greatly modified.
(2) Spear of Destiny: All 20 of its original levels
(3) Mission 2: Return to Danger
(4) Mission 3: Ultimate Challenge
To be able to use this Mod, you will need to perform the following steps:
(1) Download the Wolf_3D_Mod.zip file
(2) Open the downloaded file with 7-zip, for example, and extract its contents to a folder of your choice. It may be a good idea to create a new folder and call it Games (if you haven't done so yet), and extract the contents into that. As an example, in my D drive, I once created a folder and called it Games, and extracted the contents of a zipped file called "Wolfenstein 3D" into it.
(3) Find the folder which now contains the extracted contents (if you're not in it yet), open it, left-click on a file called "ECWolf_hdpack.pk3", and drag it to an executable file called "ecwolf.exe".
(4) A window should pop up, with all 4 games displayed in it. To play the game of your choice, simply left-click on it (if it's not highlighted), and click on "OK" at the bottom-left of the window.
Note: To play my greatly modified version of Episode 1 of Wolfenstein 3D, simply click on "OK" (as Wolfenstein 3D will probably be highlighted automatically when the window pops up), press the "spacebar" or "Enter" key to skip to the "Game Menu" screen, click on "New Game", and click on "Episode 1: Escape from Wolfenstein". I highly recommend you give it a try, as it is really exciting, full of tension and action, and has some really interesting new features.
Note 2: Should you wish to modify any of the Maps from any of the 6 episodes of Wolfenstein 3D (those Maps are the only ones available in HWE at this stage), simply open the folder called "hwe", double-click on a file called "HWE.exe", click on "File", then on "Open Project", then browse to the folder which contains the extracted contents (extracted from the zipped file earlier) and click on it. then click on "OK", and on "OK" in the next window that pops up. For a quick guide on how to get started with using the tools in it to modify maps (or to create new ones), it's dead easy to find a simple video or two on Youtube to help you.
