Rival-Species Release news

That’s right folks, Rival-Species is finally available for download! At last, after all this time, I am proud to announce the first ever Public Beta Release of Rival-Species. For those of you who don’t know, Rival-Species is based around the popular Warhammer 40K universe, and pits you against three possible races, the righteous fury of Imperial Space Marines, the unquestionable evil of their Chaos Marine counterparts, and the technological superiority of the alien Eldar. Rival-Species allows you to take part as one of a veritable plethora of warriors for these races, with all the wargear associated with them. One of the most important aspects of gameplay is the “command” feature, where the leader of the team will select the forces he wishes to fight for the battle, thus adjusting your choice of class, don’t worry though, they’re all perfectly deadly!

As I’m sure you’ll be wanting to test Rival-Species for yourself, rather than hear of it’s merits from myself, visit
Rval-Species to download the Beta 1 release and prepare to pit your skills against the deadly adversaries of the 41st millennium. Two little bits of advice; if you wish to see RS in all it’s glory, you should customise the particle detail settings before playing, and don’t forget to read the manual, there is a lot of important detail within.

I am pleased to say that, over time, our community has gone from strength to strength, and the whole Rival-Species team would like to thank them for the great support they have provided, and for generally being all round nice people. In all seriousness, this mod has been lucky in finding such an excellent fan-base, and they deserve all the thanks we can give.

Finally, I’d like to make a last plea for file mirrors, and, more urgently perhaps, Rival-Species servers. We’d love to ensure that all of our players were able to try out their download as soon as possible, and for this we may require a fair number of servers. Any help at all with this would be gratefully accepted and most appreciated.

So all that is left for you to do is head on down to the Rival-Species site, and prepare for battle across the war torn universe that is Warhammer 40k, see you all in game!
